I know that seems so horrible. Dollar Tree won't let go of the employees but transition them over. I have a Family Dollar right down the street from me and my fingers are crossed they will change it to Dollar Tree.

There was a news article a few weeks ago about the government working with Dollar Stores to bring in healthier food. I think we will be seeing this in the future.

I do think Dollar Tree is trying to adopt a 99cent store theme to their stores. Have you ever checked out the girls 99cent store hauls? Avacodas 10lb bag for $2.00! Two dollars!!!! Wow! They get some killer deals in there.

I am a DT aficionado. I am really close friends to a lot of the employees. A lot of things DT gets are just overstock from other stores. In California they get overstock from Disney Parks. Yes, the Disney Parks! I finally have one that is in with other stores so I can maximize my bus trip. I was there 3 weeks ago and they had Spring items out. I was initially surprised that not everything was just one dollar - but our 'pound shops' had started going the same way. I think the market on both sides of the Atlantic must have reached saturation point as we lost one of the two main Pound stores in the UK, and now it seems the same is happening in the US. It is so expensive elsewhere. I bought 10. Last week I bought 20 packs of seeds for 25¢ each. I have never had a problem with their seeds. I get so much lettuce from a pack. They are great for herbs too. Don't forget Dollar Tree takes coupons and is on Ibotta. I get items from them for less then a dollar all the time. So there I am with my $4.00 in beans and rice, standing behind a woman who had 17.00 worth of mostly personal supplies, (shampoo, rinse, toothpaste, etc.) Well her debit card would not work and they ran is three times, and she kept saying I just put $35.00 in to that account today (probably over drawn so they immediately took her money but said nothing to her), I just piped up I will pay for your things, she turned and said but it is $17.00 and I replied I don't care if it is $50.00 let me see that you get what you need. and you can pay it forward. So my beans and rice which I was buying to save myself a whopping $2.00 cost me ...... Why can't I get out of debt:) I am blessed so I don't worry.Out My windowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13456481267171643227noreply@blogger.com
