I haven't ever chosen a word either, but I do have some goals for 2021. I want to continue the process of cleaning out the house, ridding myself of items that I no longer need nor want - most of it will be donated so someone else can use it. I plan to use my time to continue to learn and challenge my mind and body and if I lose a bit of weight as a result that's all good. :) And if everything goes well, I'm hopeful I'll be able to take a trip this fall.

Take care and stay well!Maebemehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09706540456819503068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7341912661779864632.post-20445070138309439492020-12-30T09:27:41.396-05:002020-12-30T09:27:41.396-05:00I am so glad you averted a near disaster! Your hubby was obviously paying attention and you had a powerful hand and protective arm around you!
It is difficult to have to clean someone's home out for sure. I and my siblings did our parents home - almost 60 years of stuff! I didn't help with my IL's home this summer - I feel for those who did - it was full!
These are little reminders to get stuff gone now and keep just what I really need! So much clutter.
Positive ways and positive people seem to be much happier. Why not be positive? You have hit on the bas...His will be done, indeed! You have hit on the basis of peace. He is in charge and while I may prefer another outcome, I know His plans are not my plans, His way not my way. We had quite an experience one day this week. We were driving home on Rockville Road and a fella turned from a side street right in front of us and I could see his head was turned the opposite direction, not even glancing our way. The Urban Farmer stood on the brakes on our 21 year old car so consequently we have no brakes now. The hand of Elohim protected us from certain injury and maybe even death.

Making New Year's resolutions is basically an exercise in futility (for me). A word for the year, or even the month makes much better sense. I do know that I'm not getting any younger and it is vital that good health practices are very important. Decluttering is another ongoing task. I had mentioned that my sister-in-law had passed away and I don't envy her sons cleaning out her house as well as the garage that my brother kept adding on to. He built modified super sprint race cars and also worked on small airplanes. He would get damaged planes, rebuilt them and sell them. I have cleaned out three houses after the owners passed away and that is almost a fulltime job.

Warm temps with rain...almost like a March day! Thought about going to Meijer (just 3 miles down the road) but may stay in and work around here. We were at Meijer the other day and I saw on the clearance shelves "Buy 1 Get 3 Free" on the small containers of hand sanitizer. One of the buyers obviously overbought. I had purchased some cheap ones at Walmart so didn't need any more.

Love the poster...yes, dance in the rain! My youngest daughter knows three fellas who share an apartment. Two of them are positive and far more successful and happy than the one who is always whining. Of course we need to remember what Elohim did to the Israelites when they complained and kvetched. For the past year, I have been striving to simplify my life. Thanks to the CCP bio-terrorism lockdowns, my simplification got a big boost.
I recently read a very good book entitled "Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less" by Greg McKeown. His basic message is that we need to get down to what is essential in our lives and lose the rest. What actually is essential is unique to each person. The book is written from a corporate executive's point of view and uses a lot of workplace examples, but there is a lot there that applies to anyone at any stage of life.
Since I read the Essentialism book, I have been discerning what is essential in my life, and I have already taken some steps to eliminate what is not. More purging of belongings is happening today. I already go out much less. Unfulfilling relationships have been stepped back.
I want this all to lead to a narrower but deeper life where the things I do and own have true meaning for me. I want to be able to focus on my husband for the time we have left together. I am focusing on my making my home even more of a sanctuary for us. This is essential for our physical and mental health. I am already seeing positive results and hope to see even more good come from the changes.Franceshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05407751263369340933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7341912661779864632.post-3055728060410168812020-12-30T06:44:31.294-05:002020-12-30T06:44:31.294-05:00Thank you Nancy - good to see you stop by!Thank you Nancy - good to see you stop by!Cheryl Kimbleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06485771676254429681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7341912661779864632.post-45418157655213875372020-12-30T06:44:04.279-05:002020-12-30T06:44:04.279-05:00What a wonderful idea. I alienate people that way and often miss out on the very important things they want to share. However, your Live, encompasses listening and so much more. So, I still have time to change my word. Many years ago, when I was actually young, an older co-worker said "young lady, any day you can put your feet on the floor is a good day". Well, I heard but kinda thought he was silly but it stuck with me. Funny how time works....I never forgot that..and now think he was a pretty smart man!
