Hi there. Happy Black Friday!!
Exactly 4 weeks from today is Christmas! Oh my! It will go quickly for sure. Are you ready?
I am getting there. Not much more to purchase - although the baking frenzy will start in a couple weeks.
Most years in the past I have gone to a couple certain stores every black Friday. Today - NOPE! It is warm today but raining. I decided there was absolutely nothing that I needed bad enough to fight the crowds, the traffic, or the rain.
So today, I am doing all the laundry, put up the Christmas door decorations, and doing just a tad bit of decorating. I definitely think I will keep decorating simple this year. I have a wonderfully good smelling candle burning, and meals will all be leftovers! Life is good!!!!!!
What's going on in your neck of the woods? Are you ready for all the joys of Christmas? I hope you have a good start, so that you and yours can truly enjoy the holiday without the rush and craziness.
Have a great day!
Hi! Our daughter was kind enough to send home some leftovers so we had that today too. We did get some of our decorating done and our son and daughter-in-law and two little girls are coming over tomorrow afternoon to help get our living room tree up from the basement and decorated. We did not go out to Black Friday sales either. I don't like crowds and it was rainy here also. Nancy
ReplyDeleteHow nice for the leftovers. Have fun putting up the tree with the kids!
DeleteI too, tried to avoid the crowd of Black Friday. Have been doing my Christmas decorating.. I love your idea, of buying one new decoration , each year. How fun.. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy. Thank you for stopping by. Hope to see you again!!
DeleteWe were done earlier this week. Cooking today is vegan chili and cornbread, the rest of the turkey and trimmings will go into the freezer, maybe as already plated meals.
ReplyDeleteWe may do the outdoor decorations today after it dries up a bit.
Chili sounds good!
DeleteIt did not stop raining yesterday and still hasn't stopped today. Just light rain - but boy is it getting muddy!
we had a little rain, light misting, and an overnight downpour...but we got a few lights up outside on the bushes, and some mantle decorations etc indoors
DeleteI ignored Black Friday and now Cyber Monday, it is money that I don't have to spend so I am sticking to my resolve from Last Year this time, to not put myself in debt.
ReplyDeleteAs it was though I spent money on the following and sort of wish I hadn't caved:
1. The Peanuts Movie, $7.50 for me, $12.50 and $7.50 for two others but they reimbursed me cash...so total out is $7.50. I wish we had stayed home and decorated with more outdoor lights, it was a pleasant weather evening and we would have saved on gas too (although I am not the one who drove).
2. Additional food like half and half and soda pop, TGMan bought it but it still comes out of our bottom line.
3. Fuel costs to go hiking at a place 30 minutes away, but it was hiking after our big meal!
