We Got This

Happy Tuesday to all.  I am writing this on Monday evening and posting very early on Tuesday - as I plan on being out the door early to vote.  Please be sure you do too.  It is very important.

Monday was a cool rainy and breezy day.  I did get out and walk a little and did a little outdoor work in between raindrops!  It was so dreary.  I tell you, I now arise an hour earlier by the clock (thank you kitties and time change).  The day seems sooooooo long.  Sounds crazy, but it is dark by 6PM and there is still plenty of day to do stuff.  I rather liked it getting dark at 8PM or 9PM - closer to bedtime!!

I love this - don't let anyone take your JOY!

Just a word of advice for today and the coming days.  I think we all know things will be stressful for a while and the people are going to be divided no matter the result of the election.  Now I will not speak of parties or political decisions or ideals (and appreciate you NOT as well) - but it may get weird out there.

My advice - do not panic, do not stress - it will not help.
Try your best to not reach that panic stage about anything - health, money, politics, jobs, etc.  DON'T LET STRESS/PANIC WIN!
You are empowered in your thoughts and in your actions - you and you alone.  Stuff is always going to happen in life that we don't like - but we have the power to react in a positive light.

Always be respectful to everyone.  Do not start debate with family or friends.  Love everyone.  Be kind.  YOU be the bigger person and do the right thing always.

Life happens.  Many in our group have been through much lately - storms, destruction, health issues, family issues, financial issues, lots of loss, etc.
May we all just embrace each other with kindness and appreciate one another.  Boost each other in every way we can.

Negativity will never win over a positive and healthy attitude and way of life.  You have the power to make your life happy.  DO IT!
As the song says Que Sera, Sera - what will be will be!  We just make the best of it.  We got this!

Have a wonderful and blessed day to all.

PLEASE NO POLITICS!

  1. Hi Cheryl. This is a great reminder for all of us. I'm a bit worried that things may turn pretty ugly over this election but there's nothing I can do about it except to stay in my lane and try to be positive.
Yesterday was a wash out here. It rained all day and we ended up with a total of 4 inches.
I hope you have a wonderful day!!

    1. I am back already. I was amazed at y location - in and out quickly.
Rained here a lot - we sure didn't get that much. Today is windy and warm and just gloomy looking at the moment.
As with all things in life - we can only do what we can do! I like that "stay in my lane and try to be positive"!

    2. In addition to staying in your lane, you should also cross the street if you run into people with their faces covered by scarves or ski masks, or carrying sticks and cutlery on the way to voting areas.

  2. Wonderful advice !!!!
It was a very dismal day at mine yesterday but I did get caught up on ironing and some small organising tasks. An Asian flavoured noodle soup was made using some veg that had looong past its best before date and a mystery packet of frozen meat that turned out to be two pork steaks, but was warming and yummy. When will I ever learn to label things correctly??
Take care, let’s hope for a smooth week.

    1. Yay for getting caught up and little things - that always helps me feel accomplished.
Your soup sounds just lovely! I have had a few of those mysteries as well - LOL!

  3. Glad you were able to put in your vote quickly this morning.
Hope the weather improves. It's cool here with temps just above the freezing mark during the day, just below at night. It is November and expected. No s NO w in the forecast though and that I appreciate greatly.

    1. Thanks - it is really windy here - but the sun finally came out and it is warm. Not going to complain. Hope you don't have any S for a long while!

  4. Thank you for this reminder to keep cool. :) I also am out early this morning but then I'll be in for a day or so. I like that "staying in my lane", that's a good way to look at it. This morning my prayers were of the "Thank you God" variety, because this is His world and it is beautiful, even in the rain, even in the mud. How we react is what He is watching. :)

    1. I thought Lori's comment was great.
Yes mam, no matter what is going on - we are here today and alive. God is glorious in all things. We just need to LOOK and appreciate.

  5. That's all some good advice. Besides, I read that the "Proud Boys" have re-grouped and will be on hand to help out. Any voter who gets confused or upset can get help from a Proud Boy in a lot of states.

  6. Love the "NO" in November! Toxic people can definitely steal your joy, and your sparkle. No sparkle stealing allowed!

Another nice day here. Windows and doors are open to air out the house. A little cloudy but I have enough *sparkle* to brighten the day...ha!

Uppermost in my mind is that the Father is in charge of all. The Farmer and I read Psalms 91 every morning before our Scripture study and it is such a comfort and inspiration.

Soup does sound good! I'm sure we have enough in the freezer and pantry to make a hearty soup/stew.

My windows are open too - windy but warm.
I agree 100% - we have One in charge no matter what!!!!
I made chili over the weekend and that was good.

  7. Yes, stay alert and stay safe. I voted early last Thursday and still had nearly an hour long wait in line. The had an arrest in the polling place yesterday, involving the assault of a poll worker. The States Attorney is not messing around -- they approved (2) counts of Aggravated Battery to a victim over 60 (Class 3 Felony), (2) counts of Aggravated Battery in a public place (Class 3 Felony), (5) misdemeanor counts of Resisting Arrest and one misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct. All because someone refused to wait their turn in line, felt entitled to walk in and demand he be allowed to vote immediately, before those who had been waiting. Geesh!!!! It rained over night and had mostly cleared this morning, with a little drizzle here and there. When I drove past the Township Hall where I voted, the line was wrapped around the building at 9:00. Let's pray that there are no/few incidents today and that the time leading to the transition of power is peaceful and uneventful.

    1. To clarify, and according to news sources, the 24-year old guy refused to return to the line by multiple people, slapped the election judge manning the line, and then punched another election judge in face, knocking off their glasses. Several poll workers, assisted by a handful of people in line, took him to the ground and held him there until the police arrived and cuffed him.

    2. Here, if you had a cane, wheelchair or walker device you moved ahead on the line. Cool by me. If someone wants to get ahead that bad - I would have let him - not something to get hurt over.
They are showing lots of long lines here too - my place is kind of obscure - NO line!!!!
People just need to chill out!

    3. For disabled folks here there is Curbside voting (at least in Early Voting) where a worker brings the ballot to the car and you get to fill it out without fussing with walkers and wheelchairs.

I cannot imagine feeling so Entitled that I'd attack a worker or watcher because I wanted to be first in line, that's just amazing. Glad that active people took him out of commission - but that will be an election for the folks in line to remember! Wow!

  8. I'm a former chief elections judge and I'm glad I wasn't working THAT election. I retired four years ago and I still miss it.

Our pastor said Sunday that our church was not the type to tell you how to vote, but to encourage you to vote regardless of whom you support. He also said the sun would come up tomorrow regardless of who won and we need to remember who is really in charge here. Good advice.

    1. It takes all kinds doesn't it? Some folks always feel entitled.
Yes your pastor is right. No matter what - the sun will come up tomorrow and we still know who is King in our lives!
      Thanks

  10. My husband and I went and voted. I survived (I have extreme social anxiety and doing stuff I am not used to is not easy for me nor just being around people period). The local Dairy Queen was giving out free ice cream cones with I voted stickers so we dropped by and picked them up and let the kids eat them.

    1. Thank you! Crowds can be troubling for a lot of people, especially strangers. I get it. You got through it, bless your heart.
How nice on the ice cream! I bet the kiddos loved it!

  12. It is like our son always says to me, "Mom, tomorrow you will still have your nice home, your friends and family and your great neighbors. You will adapt to whatever comes and you will be fine like always." So this morning like always I have some great music playing, the sun is shining, my coffee is hot and even though we are still recovering from hurricane Helene and nothing will ever be the same here, I choose to be okay and happy.
