Hello everyone - I hope you are all well and safe on this Tuesday before Christmas. It is just hard to believe that this year is almost over. This morning it is 50* already. We get warmer each day for a few days and then by Monday of next week, it goes all whacky again and back in the 20's!! Such is winter.
Please God, this is my prayer for all. AmenYou just never know what a day will bring. Things change on a dime. Yesterday I went out to get my tank filled up. Came home, unlocked the door and came inside. I always relock the door once inside. Then I went out to check mail and do a couple things and Licorice showed back up acting hungry. So, I fed him again.
Then boom I could not find my keys! They are 3 keys on a little ring - 2 for the doors and one for garage. I looked and looked, checked pockets, checked drawers, floor, under things, in things, outside everywhere - dozens of times. Nothing! I then suspected maybe they hit the trash - but there they would stay if that happened, as I had cleaned out the litter box and had taken it out to bin. I gathered up another set of keys, but it still bothered me. I checked all afternoon, over and over everywhere. Guess what? I found them last evening in one of the first place I had checked (and checked) - my coat pocket! They had somehow got caught up in the gloves and I didn't feel them. Not the biggest deal, just aggravating - and of course it is always where you checked first!!!!! LOL
I guess nature decided I needed a gift and an early gift. For now, I have to take care of it.
A little momma cat and 2 babies!!!! (Momma on left and kittens at the water bowl). They actually showed up last week when it was so cold and have been sleeping in the insulated doghouse. I don't want any more cats!!!! Guess the world thinks different. I have to surmise that maybe Licorice is daddy!!! Momma and babies are all black. Off course, to his 'credit', there are a lot of black cats in our neighborhood! He tolerates them and doesn't try to run them off. On the coldest mornings, he even slept with them in the doghouse! He tries to stay avoid them, as much as possible - but he is nice to them.
The kittens are just little black balls of fur. They are a hoot to watch.
No way can I run them off this time of the year - so I guess I take care of them until they become independent. I can't get near them or touch them - they are for sure feral - but I will provide lodging and food while it is winter.
So, if you remember the original Saturday Night Live days and Roseanna, Roseanna Danna - "it's always something"!!!!
My brother and I use that statement often.
I will be back tomorrow for a short post. Take care and have a wonderful day.
Wishing you all the best week ever.

Ha. You may not want more cats, but they want *you*! :) Black cats are the best, for sure. Yes, early Christmas, dear cat lady.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found your keys. Funny how they can disappear and then show up where you've already looked.
The next few days here are to be warm - well, warm for this time of year. I've not seen anything beyond Monday.

I guess the word is out in the kitty kingdom, this is the place to be!!!
DeleteThat hasn't happened to me in a long time, I hate not being able to find something.
I think many of us will be enjoying warmer than normal - but sinter will be back!
Oh, Cheryl, if I had a nickel for every minute I spent looking for something. I still haven't located the head lamp I hunted for a few weeks ago when the power went out. Joe Diffy recorded a song - It's Always Something. I'm spending today cleaning out the fridge, wrapping gifts, vacuuming the floors, organizing some food gifts before the holiday celebrations. The neighbor little came on Sunday to decorate the tree & it looks lovely. Love the tree lights. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteIt is sooooo frustrating. You know you had it - then you don't. I didn't know there was a song too!
DeleteSounds like you are getting all organized! Seems there is always something to do. I love that you had the little one help with the tree. How fun.
Have a Merry one!!!!
Ah Cheryl, you are the chosen one ;-) Speaking of those who care for strangers, hubster update: He's doing fantastically well. Yesterday's 11 week post op visit the feeding tube was removed.....early! Now to get enough calories in him to maintain weight, with 1/2 his stomach size.
ReplyDeleteHealthy Recipes if anyone has one to share: 300 calories in a 1 cup serving (so that his cholesterol doesn't skyrocket!). My new life challenge :-)
Thank you to our prayer warriors. He feels his warrior team 💗
Merry Christmas to all. And if you celebrate something else, may your celebration bring you joy 💗
I guess I am the chosen one!
DeleteI am so thrilled that all is going so well for your hubs. What a gift to receive!!! This will be a Christmas remembered for ages.
I hope someone can help with the recipes. So happy he can eat now! Lots of little bites!!!!! Continued prayers for his BEST health ever.
Merry Christmas to you as well.
Hunting for something can be very aggravating! Glad you found the keys after all that. I'm with you, wouldn't have searched through the cat litter.
ReplyDeleteAwww, kitties are cute but you certainly don't need more. Hopefully someone will want a precious black furball for their very own.
I figure these warm days cut down on the energy bills. Enjoy it while it is here.
Erin will eat lunch with us on Thursday and then go to Noblesville to help a wheelchair-bound friend of hers. She has a young son and the people who normally help her have the day off.
Enjoy this warm weather!
It sure is aggravating. I scoop litter, but I wasn't going through the trash that included it. Now I know where the extra set it too!
DeleteOh precious cute - but I sure do not more. Not being able to catch them is the problem. Mommy knows now food comes from me, so maybe there is hope. Just to keep them warm for now.
I have the front door open today - just because. (Just glass no screen). I will take all the warm days I can get - just that much closer to spring!
That is sweet of Erin to help her friend. A lovely gift.
I’m glad that you are taking care of the cute cats and glad they have the insulated doghouse on cold nights.
ReplyDeleteA year or two ago I had to cancel a hair appointment because I could not find my keys. Like you, I knew they were in the house because I had just come home from errands an hour before. (I had another set but was discombobulated because I just wanted to find my regular keys.) I normally kept them in a dish on the end of my kitchen counter but I found them in my silverware drawer! (Not losing my memory yet but I know this made me sound like it.)
Merry Christmas!
I can't let little ones be cold and hungry. They have very warm lodging.
DeleteIt is so frustrating. I can understand you being discombobulated!!!!! I just kept looking, even with other keys. LOL - well, I get it. I have found things in the oddest places over the years.
I did look in the drawers and the frig - even though I hadn't been in either. I get it.
Thank you and same to you!
