My Arby Hack

I well imagine if you have seen an add on TV or the computer or the paper - you have seen the new Arby sandwiches.  The Hawaiian roll sandwiches. Yes indeed they look yummy and they do appear to rather inexpensive.  Or are they?
You can make the same thing at home and for a whole lot less money!  They are super easy to do as well.

I have checked out sale prices of Hawaiian rolls at Kroger - and have recently found them for 2.99/12 pack.  That works out to about .25 each.

Now think about what you have at home.  Pulled pork or BBQ pork, shredded Mexican or BBQ chicken, chicken fillets, NO MORE than a slice or two of deli ham or turkey or roast beef (to be like theirs), leftover ham or turkey, mini burgers...………………. There is no end to the type of yummy roll you can make.  They offer only 3 kinds!!!!!

The rolls will probably be even cheaper around Thanksgiving and Christmas - so stock up (freeze) and make your own 'sliders' at home any day of the week.  You also know what goes on in your kitchen, unlike the environments of the restaurants.
ENJOY!

I just noticed Aldi ad this week has the rolls for 1.39/pack!!!  WOOHOO

  1. I don't like Hawaiian rolls too much sugar. So of course they are good!

    1. Oh my - I love them. I don't get them often because they usually cost more than others.

  3. I have never heard of these sorts of rolls. We pick up bread and rolls when they are on special and freeze them. We sometimes get the dinner rolls which are just mini bread rolls. I like these for meat and salad rolls as they aren't too big. I agree that making your own is always a better option for both your health and your wallet.

    1. Kings Hawaiian rolls are basically dinner rolls but with a very rich color and they taste sweeter than regular rolls. I really like them. Not sure if they are sold every where (as in other countries). They seem to be a little pricier than others in general. But they are yummy and now becoming a restaurant hit!
Mini sandwiches could sure be made with any type of rolls.

  4. So in my search to discover what these rolls are (I'm in UK), I found two things - first, US expats living in Europe say they are very much like brioche rolls l, and two, there are recipes to make your own if you feel that way inclined:
