It's OK to be You!

Good day to all and a big howdy!  What a lovely morning it is here.  It is 71* right now and going back into the 80's today.  Yesterday was in the 80's as well.  I did turn on the AC for a bit last evening, just because it felt so humid.  Right now, the windows are open, and I am enjoying the fresh air.  Maybe some rain later in the day and evening.
I worked outside yesterday morning, until it just got too hot and muggy.  After today it appears to go back to 'normal' for temps - with 70's as highs.
I really like this little chart.  I think something on it applies to each of us at some point.  I especially like the last 3 (bottom row).
I always try to be grateful for all the things in my life - big and small.  Giving thanks is just part of my life.
The last two apply to many.  Some have empty nests now, some have retired, some are changing careers or jobs, some have maybe divorced, some have become widows, some have recovered from major health issues, etc.
Be proud of what you have accomplished in your life - everyone on every day!  Things happen in each life that makes us wonder sometimes.  Have we done our best?  Have we accomplished all we could?  Maybe the answer is no - but that is OK.  You have done you along the way, and each day is a chance to start over or do it all again.
Whatever major changes that have happened in your life - be proud you are still standing tall today!
Some of us have gone through the worst day ever in our lives - yet here we are.
Yep, we survived the worst (whatever it was), and we are going forward and changing things and making a new life.  DO NOT feel guilty about making a new life.  It is OK.  It is what you need to do.  You need to go on and move forward.  It may take time - some longer than others.  That is OK as well.  Do it, in your own time frame BUT just do it.

I just see everything on this chart as true.  Each and every comment is true.  We are all individuals and we all process life and things differently.  Just do your best, be proud, ask others when necessary, be kind and grateful and grow!

CHANGE is the one thing that is constant in life and that we all know will happen.
You got this!

Have a beautiful day!

  1. You remind me of Barnabas in the Bible, “son of encouragement”. You are a true encouragement to your readers. My mama said as she aged, you always need to be changing. It is a hard thing to do sometimes, but very necessary. Gratitude is the only way to stay “up”. Enjoy your day. Linda T

    1. Thank you so much! What a sweet thing to say. It is hard to change - but everything does, and we have to sometimes just to keep up. Life can knock us down, but we have to get back up.

  2. That is a great list Cheryl. Change is constant and the sooner we accept that the better.
My motto has always been the only thing I can control is my self and my reactions. It makes life a bit easier when you realize that.
    Happy Wednesday!!

    1. Great motto. I agree so much. Yep, we can only control ourselves - probably a good thing sometimes!

  3. Excellent post! Like the list and pinned it. Miss Linda T. is right: you are the daughter of encouragement. You don't write about negative things, woe is me, what shall I do. I will alter Miss LindaT's comment on gratitude a bit: Gratitude for what the Father has done for us is the only way to say "up". Walk through your house or your gardens and give Him thanks for all He has provided.

I would imagine the day you lost Glenn was one of your worst days. Even losing our beloved four-legged bA

Going out to try to finish a weeding job. We discovered last evening that some of the turnips are enormous, so they will need to be harvested. We have had broccoli twice and it is so good. More strawberries to pick before the rain hits.

    1. Thank you Donna. If I have it and have made it through it - I am grateful. God blesses us in so many ways.
We lose our friends, our parents and siblings and our sweet pets - then comes a spouse or a child - loss can seem overbearing at the time. And at that moment it is. I truly can't imagine a worse loss at this point in my life, but I know whatever happens in this world - God has my hand.
YUM on all the fresh goodies you are getting. That is wonderful.

  4. Argh...the comment got away from me before I finished it! As I was saying, Even losing our beloved four-legged babies is sad. I remember losing my first son and I was inconsolable. Three months after that, my dad died. Seven months later, I lost my twins. It was a rough year. But you are our cheerleader to "get up, get moving, move on."

    1. Oh my goodness, what a tremendous amount of loss in a short time. Even in a long period - it is a huge loss. Yes, we all have so many things in this world that mean so much to us and eventually it is all gone.
Thanks - I have learned the hard way, that we ALL need a little cheerleader around now and then.

  7. Thank you for reminding all of us how much we are enough. I do a gratitude journal every day. It centers me.

    God bless.

Yes, your posts are encouraging and helpful. They point in the right direction, I think. :)

    1. Great voices and very upbeat music. I really like it too.
Thanks Mary. We can all get negative stuff at every turn - I just try to keep things light and happy and maybe helpful.

  9. I agree with you! I also think it's OK to eliminate people from your life if they get in the way of your living your best life. Especially those who think you or others are not good enough.

    1. Yes mam. It is OK. We have to surround ourselves with people who uplift us, not those that pull us down.

  10. Practical Parsimony
Laptop works poorly and slowly. Cannot even get my tech support. I will be busy having a bedroom converted to a bathroom. But, when I can manage to get a new laptop, I will be back regardless of chaos of construction.

  11. I love it. 💕 yes, sometimes we need to set boundaries even with people we love.
It was hot and humid here yesterday so I put on a sleeveless tank top and Bailey told me I must have been really hot. 😂

    1. Yes, we do need boundaries. We create our little world and should keep it calm and nice.
It did get very hot yesterday. You sound like me, I very seldom wear sleeveless - but do like them.

  12. We are in the midst of changing our lives as we downsize into an apartment. We are excited about it, yet it is scary and new. Our kids aren't quite sure about what we're doing, but we are moving forward with a new season and hoping to gain some rest and learn how to have fun again :) I heard recently - you have to be ok with others not being "ok". There's always a naysayer in the bunch.

    1. WOW what a big change for you. That is your choice, and it sounds like you have good reasons for it. Our seasons change and we need to go along and make ourselves happy.
I like that saying! Best of luck!!
