Well, the Change is Here - Wishing Good for ALL

Howdy to all.   Hope you are all well and safe on this New Years Eve!  Good golly, it seems impossible that we are at this point in time again.  In a blink of an eye, it will be spring and growing time again!
This morning it is around 50*F, and it has been raining all night!  More to come today and temps are to fall after mid-day.  Flurries to start the new year.  Looks to be a cold start to the new year - but January is always our coldest month - so to be expected.
I was out already feeding the animals - and heard the Robins singing!  I have seen several the past few days - all enjoying the muddy ground, which is good for worm hunting.  Boy, will they receive a shock in a day or two.  It is just too early here for them.  But it always encourages me to see them.

Tomorrow's sunrise will usher in a new year - 2025.  I do not make resolutions anymore.  I do have things I might like to do - but not resolving to it, as I don't want to disappoint myself!
Let us all make this a year to be kinder and more caring, more understanding and loving.  Hoping we all become better people.
Put anger, disputes and disappoints behind you.  Forgive.  Things change in this world, not always as we would like - but we need to buck up and go forward. I do believe for everything there is a season and a reason.

I hope we all look forward to learning and teaching each other new ideas, skills, and just maybe new positive ways of thinking.

I hope we all learn to take good care of what we have and not to covet our neighbor's/families lives.  Love what you have, use it and be grateful.  Take care of yourself as well!!!!!

I wish everyone a healthy year.  I know many are going through sickness and bad health issues - prayers that you get healing and recovery.  Those missing loved ones - each day DOES get a tiny bit better. It never leaves 100% - but life gets more tolerable.  Those who lost homes and possessions this year in storms - I am glad YOU are still here.  I cannot even imagine what you have been through - your lives are precious!  Huge HUGS and prayers!

May 2025 bring FRESH thoughts, ideas, attitudes and plans to all.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!
God bless you in all you do.

                                                             You are unique and special

I will have a new post on Thursday!

  1. A Happy and Healthy New Year to you Cheryl and all who come here. Today is our 47th wedding anniversary. It seems like it been a blink of an eye. We will have a special dinner at home. Our town does fireworks at midnight and if we're awake we can see them from our deck. Usually we're fast asleep by that time. We don't make resolutions either. We have some goals but they're flexible and if they don't get done it's okay. It's cold here as well and going to get colder as the weeks goes on. Cookie

    1. HAPPY ANNIVERSAY! That is wonderful. Enjoy your special dinner.
I will probably be asleep at midnight - I never try to stay up. If I wake up so be it!
I figure what will be will be - if I get things done yay - if not, well it wasn't that important.
      Happy New Year.

  2. Happy New Year, Cheryl. There's a tad more daylight now. It will be 4-5 mos before the first robin is seen here, always a sure sign of spring. Like you, I don't make resolutions but I do have a to-do list. Items often get rolled over to the next yr but eventually get done. My goal for 2025 - to be whole, not perfect.

    1. Yes, a little more light if you get past all the clouds! They shouldn't be here until about March or April - but here they are. Crazy birds.
Great goal! Nobody is perfect - we can just be our best.

  3. Happy New Year, Cheryl! Thank you for another positive post. We do all need to work on being kind and tender with each other. That is my catchphrase for the coming year, “Extravagant Tenderness”. Blessings, Lynn, Pecos, NM

    1. Thanks. I like that! "Extravagant tenderness". We all need to do that more.
Kindness and tenderness are free - why not?

  6. Looks like I'll be starting the new year with snow... at least that is the forecast. Brrrrrr. But I don't need to go anywhere and there's wood for the stove, blankets on the bed, and fuzzy slippers and sweaters. Not to mention a warm housecat! :)

No resolutions here, not my thing, too many failures in the past. Poor track record.

Happy New Year, folks! Make it a good one. :)

    1. Well, I guess the snow has to fall at some point! We may wake to a dusting - but very cold. Yes, so blessed to have all those things to keep us all warm and snuggly.

  7. I am glad to see the back of this year and I trust the next to be easier than this one. Spring can't come soon enough. This is the coldest winter I remember here in the South. Happy New Year to all!!

  8. Happy New Year Cheryl! I love what you wrote about being kinder and more caring, more understanding and loving. The world definitely needs more of that. With the death of Jimmy Carter, many of the things he has done and said echo the sentiments you wrote about here. He was a very good man

    1. Thank you. It sure would be a better world if everyone tried just a little bit more. I know I can improve as can most people.

    2. In 2018 I attended President Carter’s Sunday School class in Plains and it was a wonderful experience. He was a genuine man of faith.

  9. I aim to actually comment on the blogs I read this year.. Just wanted to thank you for your blog and your positive attitude towards life. Several times your positivity has helped me when I have been feeling bored - Retired two years now and still trying to find free activities to occupy my time.

    1. That's a danger with retiring. ;) I found part time work that I enjoy, with people who are pleasant. It makes a *huge* difference in my life. Also I found a new hobby: shape-note singing. Something to go to, something to study, new people to meet. Best wishes for you in your search, I sure do understand what you're looking at. :)

    2. Hi J - glad to see you here. It can be something trying to figure out your time. It finally got to a point that I wonder now how I got so much done when I worked. It seems there is always something to work on, clean, empty, sort......
I hope you find a good match for your time. I am glad you are here and hope you continue to comment.

    1. Well, I don't like the cold - but I try to remember it helps all things. We need the freezes to kill off nasty buggers and germs outdoors so our plants will thrive. Without the seasons it probably would be boring. It also gives us time to nest, and get things done indoors.
