Geesh - the rain!

Ok I am officially over the rain!!!!!!  It started raining today about noon, and has poured since.  The water in the back yard is twice as bad as it was over a week ago.  It comes higher up in the yard and more neighborhood yards are totally involved.
The ground is still so saturated, there is just no where for it to go.  It's crazy.
I may have to build an ark for the kitties!!!

I also have huge concerns for our local farmers.  There were still 1,000's of acres of farmland under water at the end of last week.  This will probably be totally devastating to the farmers and their income, and for fresh produce from the area.  Red Gold tomato products come from Indiana, and I bet there won't be much made this year.

I am glad that I went out and picked produce before the rain started this morning.  I sure hope this doesn't mess up our garden.  It is looking absolutely gorgeous and producing so well.
Lord, please let it stop soon.

  1. Hi my good friend: I have such a difficult time trying to get into your blog, I really dislike Google., but when I do it is worth it.
Just a quick note to let you know that we are onthe 8th day of our driving holiday. We got to Alberta to see our oldest son and family, it was sooooo good to see them. They were the best hosts, very thoughtful and even had a 75th birthday cake for me on the 5th. We went to Lake Louise, and Banff to see the mountains up close it was outstanding and overwhelming too. Will be good to get back to my apartment though, and see my friends and family, You take good care of yourself. I had a good laugh, apparently I think it was yesterday the only person on Frugal was Anna!!!

  2. Tell me about the rain! I have successfully thwarted the first indications of tomato blight by carefully handling and snipping off the bottom leaves of affected plants, spraying with a copper fungicide, and now with this renewed rain I sent the Good Man to Lowes to get some daconil,.. it is war now!

I am very concerned about the weather because it is so true how it affects prices in the grocery store on products from the farmers' fields.

  3. Good morning, So sorry you guys are getting so much rain. I wish we were getting some here as our water rates are some of the highest in the country and we have to keep watering. I have been using brown water on some of my shrubs. And it would help if it would rain because the weed pollen is very high here too. And wildfires are burning so early.
Hey, JoAnne glad to see you here. Glad your Vacation is a success! I stay logged into Google also.

    1. Laurie I wish you were getting some of this rain too. I am sure Ellen concurs. it has been raining again all day today, no end till late tomorrow.

Heard on the news that much corn and soybean crops in IN are rotting in the fields. Prices for produce are sure to go up as well as things made with those products.
