Happy Wednesday my friends. It is a beautiful morning here. Sun is shining and the windows are open letting in a breeze.
I am tired and sore a bit this morning - yesterday was garden day!!!!!! Whew, that was work. Now let the 'grow'ceries begin!!!!!! Here is hoping we all have a great growing season.
Sometimes life gets so messy and things just get us down and we ALL need to stop and just remember how fortunate we are.
I know I do. Despite the anxieties and stress I feel at times - it is still good.
I often wonder how terribly unhappy and disturbed people must be that go out of their way to do harm to others or to anything. It is so pitiful. I pray daily for these folks, that they may find peace and some joy in their lives and God.
I needed this meme today!!!!!!! Our faith gets tested every day. In so many ways. But I know in the end I am loved. You are loved.
Life can knock us off our pedestals some days. It can make us cry. It can make us sad. It can make us angry. It can make us wonder. BUT - it can give us joy and happiness as well.
I pray for each of you daily. I love you all.
Have a wonderful day and go out live your best life today - and PRAY for those souls that seem need it most!
Blessings to all.
Thank you, Cheryl. Love those memes. Sent the one about the umbrella as analogy to faith on to my Sis. I pray for you and all here every day, too. There's power in prayer. Yes, we should pray for those who'd do evil, rather than good... pray, but dust your sandals off and keep moving.
ReplyDeleteFor AZ shoppers, I added the (very good) Basha's deals in yesterday's comment section near the end. Another busy day is ahead. At least there was no barking in the middle of the night. We got to sleep straight through until 4:42 a.m.. Yawn!
Blessings to all today,
Elise
I thought the umbrella one was quite fitting. I needed it today. Yes, the power of prayer can be quite powerful. Evil seems to permeate our world these days - we must not lose fact of the light that is there as well.
DeleteThose deals you listed were fantastic!
Babies fuss at night - it will get better!
Our big garden day is Saturday. We're so behind, but there's just so many hours in the day! Good for you for getting it all done. Maybe today is a good day to relax a little and enjoy something less physical.
ReplyDeleteMy craft room is beginning to look like the neverending project lol. However, I was noticing yesterday that I have really made a dent in the boxes and bags stuffed here and there. I'll take my victories where I can. Time goes so fast while I'm in there working. I'm listening to a Jesse Stone on CD and I get into the zone!
I wonder so many things about people lol!! I'm pretty sequestered in my home and little town. I like that! But when I venture out to a city, I find myself very cautious. While I haven't seen any of the serious craziness, I'm still so disappointed at the general impatient behavior I'm starting to see more often. Egads! There's a reason home is my sanctuary and the TV is mostly off.
Don't let the turkeys get you down, Cheryl! I'm praying for a revival of sorts and hoping Jesus pulls the car over and takes his sandal off 😂.
The best we can do is model good behavior ourselves and resist the urge to head butt the weenies!!
Our garden is also a little late in coming as we've been super busy inside the house this week, Debby. Our guest room (now empty of guest) will double as my craft room!!!
Delete:-D We had a very big, marble topped vanity dresser (cut out place for a chair in front of the mirror) from our son's house that--with 3 drawers on each side--will be excellent for my jewelry making; it's in there. Along with my own boxes and bags to organize and put away. LOL!
Like you, I've been praying the Lord will pull the car over and take a sandal off. Each day I skim the online news faster and click on little or nothing. I can't change the world, but I can pray and work on my own little spot of it. --Elise
Oh daddy always said the soil wasn't warm enough to grow much until the end of May any way - so I think we will all do OK. This is actually the latest I have ever planted as well.
DeleteOh, I wonder about people too Debby. Why do they have to be so evil and mean?
I guess it is what it is - but it doesn't make it right.
I have always felt this was my sanctuary and have always felt safe here - beginning to rethink things. I will not give up - but it sure gets frustrating. All we can do is pray and pray so more for the evil ones to cease.
Happy gardening!
I didn't know you made jewelry, Elise! What kinds? I've often thought I'd like to try my hand at it, but I will not allow myself another hobby without finishing up some of my many projects and making room for it!
DeleteAlso, I have to admit that I skip over reading anything about animals that might bother me so I have no idea how you acquired Poppy. I confess to not wanting to know, but I'll assume she was a needy wee one. And to that I'll say 'Bless you and your husband.'. We always need more animal angels in this world. 😇
Debby, I make necklaces, bracelets and earrings using gemstone beads and pearls, most often with sterling silver clasps and such. About 20 years ago I found and bought freshwater pearl necklaces for our mothers for Christmas, but the clasps were too hard for them to work. So... I figured I'd learn how to make my own with easier clasps. And I did.
DeleteOther crafts I've done in the past included hand painted clothing, note cards, etc. A little more than 30 years ago I made porcelain dolls, or as I said, I made babies. LOL! Even had a kiln in the garage. I've dabbled in arts/crafts my entire adult life, but it's been about 5 years since I did anything, even though I still have all my beading supplies. Just didn't have any place to do it other than the kitchen table. --Elise
Such a great message, Cheryl. Yes, life does knock us down sometimes, but we make the choice of letting it keep us down or not. We have so much to be grateful for and are so blessed especially when compared to so many others in the world.
ReplyDeleteYep - just keep getting up. Sometimes it gets tiring - but we do it. We have to - I mean no one else is going to make it better, only us. Blessed indeed!
DeleteI was pleased to read you are having less trouble with your neighbour and pray it continues that way. Well done will the gardening, hope things grow and no critters decide to have a picnic at your expense. Love both the messages. I heard this morning my knee surgery is scheduled for June 3rd so must try not to feel anxious. I often think about your other readers going through testing times, hugs from the UK.
ReplyDeleteWill be praying for full success and fast healing for your knee surgery, Heather. --Elise
DeleteThank you - each day here apprehensive to say the least. Please keep praying - he needs it and my patience needs it.
DeleteOh goodness, that is soon. I hope the surgery is successful and you heal quickly and nicely. Make sure you do exactly what they tell and do the therapy!!!!
I hope your garden does well too.
Yes, there are a lots of gals here with many problems - I am so glad we have each other to vent to and pray for one another.
Thank you Elise and Cheryl, yes Mam..... I will :-)
DeleteYes, life knocks us down -- last week, for me, the entire week! Came home from 2 weeks in Ireland and tested positive the next morning. While fully vaxed and boosted, it lodged in my sinuses and chest, and I had no energy -- at all. Combined with jet lag, I was down for the count. Even a small task, like feeding the pul, meant I needed to sit down and recoup. I'm probably 75% today, and am planning on gardening today. I NEED to get my deck-rail boxes planted and get my veggies into their pots. And, all of my planters need to be rememdied. I've planed out my day and am allowing a full hour for each planter, which will give me time to sit down with an iced tea in between plantings. Seeing another part of the world was enlightening, especially how so many Irish communities embrace conservation.
ReplyDeleteHope you're 100% soon, Lori. Saying a prayer! --Elise
DeleteI bet Ireland was beautiful - a trip of a lifetime. I have ancestors who came from there. It sure looks like a lovely green place when watching documentaries. So sorry you came home ill. I hope you get all your energy back ASAP. Do not over do it today. Take your time and sip that cool tea!
DeletePrayers for healing.
Prayers for you Lori!
DeleteThank you, everyone!
DeleteThis is a great reminder. When I'm feeling down I remind myself that some do not have a safe, clean bed to sleep in and that really wakes me up.
ReplyDeleteWe are truly so fortunate to have what we have. So many don't.
DeleteI get down more often of late than I have in a while - but God always gives me a boost and great reminders of what I have.
I agree with Lori, great reminder. I was feeling sad about my husbands passing last night and then focused on the 41 years I had with him. Being thankful for all that I have and had. Thank you for this post today. Hilogene in Az.
ReplyDeleteOh Hilogene - I understand. I have had many conversations with my Glen lately! Yes I have!!!!
DeleteLike you - just thankful I got to spend over half of my life with him - what a gift. You will have those days - but yes, please remember the good days and times. They help us each so much.
Huge hugs to you my friend.
Love this post! I pinned both graphics. Reading Pollyanna again for the first time in many, many years. She had a game she played that turned disappointing or bad circumstances into good ones. It's a matter of an attitude of gratitude for what the Father gives us.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that movie or read that since I was a kid. I loved the movie - remember getting to watch it in the gym at school!
DeleteI may need to play that game!!!!!!! Yes mam, attitude is a lot of it. God gives us what we can handle - sometimes I wonder why He thinks I am so strong!!!!
Thank you CHeryl.
ReplyDeleteYou betcha girlfriend!!!! We need to watch out for one another.
DeleteWe all have so much, but our greatest gift is faith. It has been a testing week for me so far, people can be just plain stupid at times, sometimes I’d like to take that umbrella and smack some people in the face and tell then to wake up to themselves. Ohhh what a day!! Louise
ReplyDeleteYES, YES, YES!!!! Hand the umbrella to me when done - I would love to smack a few myself!!!!!!! LOL
DeleteWe are tested daily = I just keep saying "Lord help me".
Hope you have a better tomorrow!!!!!!
Gratitude and prayers (mine and others-thank you, everyone!) are what has been getting me through the past few weeks while my brain sorts itself out. Any day I wake up on the right side of the turf is a good day.
ReplyDeleteGot most of my "growceries" planted Monday with the rest to follow Friday after a couple of nights in the 40s. We're having heavy haze from the Canadian wildfires. I can only imagine how bad it must be there.
--Frances in the Trailer Park
Right side of the turf is golden - yes indeedy!!!!
DeleteIsn't it lovely to have such a network of people that pray and care?
Yay, on your planting. I think I am mostly done too. Feels good.
Crazy about the haze - yesterday was hazy here and that is what they said it was from. All those poor people up there.
Take care - you got this!!!!!!
I know how it is, Frances, and feel the same way. Congrats on getting your "growceries" planted! I looked at plants today, but they looked sad and are shockingly expensive, even at Walmart. So I bought seeds instead. Better late than never?
DeleteAs for the smoky haze, it was common in CA. Be careful about breathing too much of it in. Your Hubs, too. --Elise
Every day I try and remember to be grateful for the little things. Remembering those keeps me full of joy.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
There is much joy - we just need to make sure we pay attention to it and see and appreciate it. Thanks.
