Happy Sunday! Happy April! Happy Palm Sunday!
I sure hope this finds each and everyone of my friends here safe and healthy. What a nasty couple of days the mid-section of this country had!
I am good here. It sure was a scary time on Friday! 7 tornadoes touched down JUST in my state on Friday night, not counting all the surrounding states. So much devastation and death. All over the sate in every direction. It was so very scary since it happened at night and late. I stayed up well after it finally ended.
My "kids" live right by the area in southern IN that got hot directly - they are all fine. I have family just south of Little Rock and they are fine. Friends who live in Whiteland - they had a lot of damage - but still have their homes and lives. It is all sooooooo sad.
I bet my nephew who has a roofing business, will be crazy busy for ages. I know yesterday they were all over, just tarping places.
PRAYERS you and yours are ALL safe.
March went out like a lion - a crazy totally ticked off lion!!!!!!!!!!
My week:
- I have started going through all my canning supplies and organizing everything - what a mess!
- Started making material inventory from old clothes
- Going through bins, boxes and bags of paper, cards and gift bags - trying to get all sorted
- I mowed the front yard!
- I ran out to get gas and use the points for discount before they expired. Gas is up here - so discount sure helped. I also filled the gas can for the summer (for mower)
- I got the Blazer washed while out (FREE) with a coupon
- I got bank statement and saw I received my Fed. tax refund exactly one week after filing taxes!! I am amazed. Nice surprise
- I did go to get Blackie's allergy meds - and they were out. Got it in on the truck but said it would take days before they got to it!!!!! REALLY?? It isn't that big of a store. Sooooooo I did something I never do!!!!! I ordered on-line from Chewy!!!! ME, MOI, MYSLEF, I!!!!!! I ordered at 5PM on Wednesday and received the order at 2PM the next day - from AZ and FREE delivery! Take that pet store! These are Homeopathic (all natural) drops that help with his goopy eye & nose problem. OH, and the drops were $7 a bottle cheaper than the pet store!!!!!! I am good for a while now!
- Did another pick-up of sticks and trash from outdoors
- I actually got out my weather radio on Friday - have had this thing for years and never used. That is how scary it was.
- Cooking from home and using what I have
- Doing all the normal stuff we all do
- Got to air the house a little
Meals this past week:
Fish, oven fries, slaw
Asparagus, mac n cheese and tuna patty
Mac n cheese, chicken strips and salad
Big salad
Meat and veggie wrap
Mexican pizza
Cream of potato/asparagus soup
How was your week? Did you or your families happen to be in the weather areas? Did you get any deals this week? Let us know.
PLEASE check-in, so we all know that you are OK. Prayers for everyone. I feel so blessed to have missed the damage.
May you all be safe and healthy. May your families and homes be safe.
Blessings to you and yours from my humble little home.

Dear Lord, we pray for all those families involved in the storms this week. Please be with them in this time of need and raise their hearts and hopes. May we all be a bit of sunshine to them and may we all be able to help in some way. Please keep everyone in Your loving and protected arms. AMEN
So glad you are safe after the storms. We had very strong winds and loads of rain in my area but all around had tornadoes. I hope Tuesday is not as bad this weather scares me. Otherwise all is quiet here. Gearing up for loads of cooking this week for Easter and then getting things in line for my surgery on May 1. Have a Blessed week and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are safe. Storms are so scary - especially these spring storms. I hope things are not as bad either.
DeleteSounds like a busy time for you - Easter will be a family fun time! Have a wonderful week and stay safe.
We watched footage of the damage in Sullivan County and at first we thought it was from the tornado damage in Mississippi. Such destruction! I remember the Palm Sunday tornado in 1965.
ReplyDeleteExcellent Scripture and prayer! I enjoy these devotionals that you write.
More sweet gum balls down and limbs from the neighbor's giant, ugly pine tree. The greenhouse and the chicken house are all still standing. The sun is shining and we are headed out to Cox's Plant Farm to look for strawberry plants. Some of ours did not come up.
Sullivan is so bad - it sure was hit hard. Whiteland and Martinsville had a huge amount of damage as well. So sad. There seems to be a big swath of damage all the way up through state.
DeleteHave fun berry plant hunting!!
Have a great week.
Checking in from the Chicago suburbs. It truly WAS one of the worst storms that I've been thru since living in the Chicago area. By the time the storm reached me, the winds had dropped a little in intensity (OK, from 70+ mph to the mid 50s), and the rains had started to break up a little. Still, it was very scary. We've had tornados touch down close in the past, but these straight-line winds were horrible. The west-facing side of my townhome is mostly windows, meaning the potential for glass breakage was high. Just as the weather report was showing the line crossing Joliet, I got a "local" Code Red warning on my home and pup and I headed to the lower level (garage on the west side, bonus room mostly below grade) and flipped on the TV in my office to continue watching. We were down there for about an hour, when the winds substantially subsided. We had flooding on roads outside my immediate area, but that always happens when we have heavy rain. I've been working on eating from my pantry and freezer, as much as possible, and taking beverages with me in the car when I have to travel. Trying to save whenever and wherever I can. I do have breakfast scheduled with a friend for Monday this week, and have to get over to Michigan this week, but otherwise and going to stay put and take care of what I need to here. Make it a good one!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are safe. Yes mam, one of the scariest I have seen for a while too. We had a 70 mph wind gust Friday night and then Sat. was 50 mph wind gusts. Thank goodness all is still standing.
DeleteI hope you have a fantastic week. Sounds fun
I forgot to ask what drops you give your cat. One of Erin's cat just starting sneezing and wondering what to do. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt is called HomeoPet - Nose relief. They have several different types - depending on the problems. It was like $14.99 vs. 21.99 that Pet Smart wanted. Exact same item. I got this at Chewy for that price.
DeleteI forwarded the information to Erin. Amazon has it the same price.
DeleteI've seen the reports of storm damage on the news, it's devastating. Glad you and most of your family and friends were spared the worst of it.
ReplyDeleteStay safe!
Yes devastating for sure. So much damage and death!
DeleteThank you.
Have a great week. Hopefully it will be warmer there!
Glad to hear you made it safely through the storm. A tornado touched down 20 minutes north of us and about 20 minutes south of us. Luckily no one with serious injuries but a lot of destruction. I'm not looking forward to Tuesday as it's supposed to be 80 degrees here when the storm comes through which always makes them stronger.
ReplyDeleteI did get .40 cents off gas at Kroger which was nice.
Have a good week Cheryl.
It is so amazing what the wind can do - and not amazing in a good way! Glad you are safe.
DeleteNot looking forward to the storms Tues. Yes, high 70's here - then storms.
Those gas discounts are so nice. It all helps.
Have a lovely week.
Good morning to you all!
ReplyDeleteI was so irked this morning! I woke up and my stomach wasn't feeling well. Then, after I ate, I got that barfy feeling. It subsided after a good 5 minutes. I was afraid to go to church like that. That was my irk. I missed Palm Sunday Mass. I love this Mass. It's so incredibly powerful and I missed it. I just had half a PB&J so we'll see what that does. Growl hiss.
We've had cold Spring and warm Spring this week and nutso wind. But not a drop of rain. From the bad weather, it seems as though half the system went north and the other half went south. We just got red flag fire warnings. We ran the sprinklers this morning.
The tornado devastation is something. We've seen it up close and personal here. Standing in it is one of those things that TV just can't relay. The odd things you see are mind boggling when you realize what the are and how they got there. Then the house next door looks completely untouched... until you see that the entire back is gone and it looks like a movie set. Perfect front, right down to the blooming tulips.Poor people
Cheryl, I join you in the nooks and crannies cleaning. I just keep at it. At some point, I'll finish the once over and begin all over again!
I got Mr. pup to the groomer Thursday. He went in like a black Retriever and came out like a black Lab! He's wiggly with happiness at losing all that fur with the warm temps right now. He might change his dance on Wednesday, when cold Spring returns.
Speaking of black Labs, did you see the little guy lost with his dog in the Jersey woods? Bet he keeps his house in sight after that, poor kid! Pup probably thought it was a grand adventure!! In an incredible guardian angel story, YouTube the story of the car getting hit by a truck tire on the 118 Fwy. Unbelievable. I used to do my commute on that fwy. and it's a miracle that nobody got hurt.
I'm finally putting up my Easter decorations up today. I was so happy to put my $1.99 Goodwill spring tablecloth on! It's a print on white muslin and looks beautiful! Easter dinner will be ham, scalloped potatoes, broccoli, Watergate salad, and a pecan pie for the hubs. I usually make lemon or coconut cream, but I have pecans left from fall and that's hubs' favorite. Why not?!
We saved nearly $21 on 2 spiral hams. Aldi has them for $1.49# this week. Great deal!
Sorry you missed Mass. I hope you are feeling better.
DeleteAmazing nor rain! WOW - it came in sheets here. We have had such a rainy spring and it seems it will continue. I sure wish we could send you some of it.
I bet your puppers feels good!!!!
Pecan pie is my favorite too - glad your hubs will get his next week!
Stay safe and have a great week.
Like you, Debby, I was sick yesterday morning and missed Palm Sunday services. I can sympathize. Praying you get some much needed rain. Without bad storms! And your Easter dinner plans sound delicious! What time should I be there? LOL! --Elise
DeleteWe did not have the bad weather here. We are kind of in tornado alley in Texas but these storms must have been massive. Big tornados that stayed on the ground, that would have terrified me and I am used to bad storms.
ReplyDeleteNo special deals at the grocery this week but I have not checked the sale flyers yet. I did purchase a new lawnmower. Ordered on line and had it shipped to my Ace Hardware store. They put it together and my son walked around there to bring it home. It has been decades since I have had a new car, too bad mowers don't have that brand new smell LOL.
I opted to get one with the electric start. I have not been able to use the pull start for many years. This one is also self propelled so in a pinch I might be able to get it done. Son has mowed and now is off getting some weed and feed to spread. We are supposed to have rain later today. I have only bought okra and yellow squash seed to plant this year. Those seem to do the best for me. I will pick up a couple of tomato plants next time I am over at the nursery.
Glad you are good. The system was massive - it was about as long as our state. It was a swath of weather that was horrible and strong.
DeleteNice on the new mower. I hope it makes life easier for you both. LOL- feed it - cut it - we have a vicious cycle!!!!!
Haven't even thought about planting here yet. We have a month or so before that happens.
Have a fantastic week!
It’s good to hear you are safe and sound. I have had heavy rain for the last week, patchy showers that drench in between sunshine. I few times I have been out in the yard and had to make a mad dash into the house to stay dry.
ReplyDeleteI am working my way through cleaning out an old upright freezer and have been having some mismatched meals, but it’s all food/fuel and so does it’s job, non one is complaining anyway. Especially not the dogs who lucked out when I defrosted a bag of what I thought were cooked beans but turned out to be chopped kidneys.
Have a great week, take care. Louise
Glad you are good too. I know some of us sure would like to ship the rain to the dry areas!!!!!
DeleteYay, on cleaning out the freezer. Sounds like a great way to use it up and save a little money. Oh, I bet the doggies were delighted!
Have a wonderful week.
Hey Cheryl! Crazy winds here. Power out this past weekend and last weekend was power and water and our car engine died. This weekend just the power for a little while after Mamma Earth blew through. Stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer on the power being out. Sounds like enough problems for a while!!!!! You need some calm. Glad you are safe.
DeleteBoy, did she blow through - wowza.
Have a fantastic week.
Cheryl I always like seeing your weekly menus. I, often think, how much we could save if Dh would eat "remade" meals from our leftovers. Or maybe I just need to learn to cook smaller amounts. All those years of cooking for 3 men (2 growing sons & Dh) and I just can't seem to cook less. I'm trying. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to cook less - it takes a lot of practice. I still don't have it down. I generally cook the same amount as before and eat more than once. I never understood not liking leftovers - many things taste better on round 2!
DeleteHave a wonderful week.
Having trouble with cooking smaller myself, Kay. It would be good (maybe) to explore cooking for two or one here? Hint, hint.
Delete;-) Elise
I caught the hint!!!!!!! LOL - Still working on something!!
DeleteWe got some snow early this morning, but it has melted and then some now. However more snow is to arrive overnight. Looks like winter still has firm claws into our weather for a bit yet.
ReplyDeleteYou have reminded me I need to see what I need for canning, freezing and dehydrating this year.
God bless.
Oh goodness - you have to wonder when the snow will end!!! Geesh.
DeleteGlad to help. It is about that time to get things in order for the garden season and buy new before it is all gone.
Have a blessed week.
I’m so glad you and your family are ok. There have been way too many bad storms hitting too close to home.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I agree - but tis the season!!! Spring ang and summer bring the worst storms - not a fan.
DeleteHave a great week.
Glad all your family are okay, awful for all those affected. We had a frost this morning but it's a lovely sunny Monday. We were up early to drop hubbies motor bike for its annual MOT test.
ReplyDeleteLast week and this week coming we are eating up frozen food so I can defrost our large chest freezer. Fortunately Father in law has room in his freezer for the dozen bags of frozen tomatoes!!
Have our son and family here today, he is 'working from home' before they jet off to Majorca tomorrow, lucky things. Little granddaughter and I are colouring and watching a Disney film.
We had a sort out of clothes last week and dropped off a large bag of unwanted stuff to the charity shop. The really great news is that granddaughter no 2 had an interview for her first full time job and got it :)
Hope you have a good week Cheryl.
Good job on eating down the foods for defrost. Waste not.
DeleteGlad you got to visit with your family. How neat on their trip! I bet you had a grand time with the little one!
It sure is freeing to get rid of stuff. Congrats to your granddaughter.
Have a good week.
Prayers going out to the families that suffered due to the tornadoes, so awful! And there is no warning many times.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have been very productive and busy! That is great. I did get a very good deal yesterday at a Walmart in a farm town. They had the long sleeve all cotton Time and Tru tshirts for $1.00 on clearance. I love cotton, and I needed extras to go with pajama bottoms for cool weather. They had xl size and that's great for what I was needing them for. I bought several.
Yes! Chewy is great for things like that. So is Canada Vet express and Pet Shed but I'm quickly becoming a fan of Chewy for lots of things. Quick delivery too. As I've written before I found our "Coffee" girls eye drops (prescription) on Chewy, they even had generic. Our vet charged a ten dollar fee to sign for them but I'm way ahead. The drops were under a fourth of the price! I bought several and only one fee. I'm sure the vets are not fans (sorry mr. vet love ya man) but we gotta do what we gotta do! Right? :)
I think I'm going to make a mexican casserole tonight, I need to get those corn tortillas out of that fridge and that green enchilada sauce out of my pantry! lol Great to see your menus from last week, that gives me some good ideas!
Just FYI I posted my top and skirt sets on my blog if you would like to see them as well as a photo of our new little rescue, 'Missy Christmas'. : ) I also have some sweet, sweet music to share on a youtube there, I've just been playing that a lot in the background here at home, the station has so much sweet music.
I'm so glad to see your blog here updated, my blogger would not upload for me and today I finally clicked on your blog and it came up. So strange.
I appreciate you! Glad everything is okay, prayers going out.
~Amelia at My Forest Cathedral blog : )
Amelia, I've thought of looking into Chewy for a few things that are just not consistently available here. Also, Blue itches all the time. Has since she showed up. It's not fleas; I use a natural flea and tick killer for her, as well as a natural heartworm tablet every month. Any suggestions appreciated! --Elise
DeleteP.S. I didn't realize you have a blog yourself and will have to pop in there. :-)
Sounds like a deal on the t-shirts. I love those kinds of deals.
DeleteI am now a fan of Chewy. I will be looking into other things I need there. Great prices, and great delivery.
You know I am not sure I remember you had a blog either. I will surely check that out and follow!
Mex. casserole sounds yummy - love looking for fun recipes to use up those odds and ends.
Have a wonderful week.
So grateful you were spared the worst of the storms, Cheryl. As always, thank you for the verse and prayer. Your meals sound tasty.
ReplyDeleteThe stress of the past several months finally kicked in a U.C. flare, it seems. I'm so grateful for Hubs and our nearby son who worked together to make dinner last night. We'd planned to see Phoenix relatives for Easter, but that's going to have to wait for another time. I wrote out a long gratitude list yesterday. It had been bugging me that we've still no idea when BIL is moving in with us (he's with the other relatives right now), and I realized yesterday I wouldn't want him here when I'm in a flare. It can be... embarrassing. He's complained about both altitude issues and the winter weather, so maybe he'll decide to buy a place closer to Phoenix?
Got several good deals last week. Some I'd already commented about. But the other day at Kohl's website, I was able to get 4 more polo shirts and 2 pair of denim Bermuda shorts for only the tax and shipping ($10.59), thanks to clearance + add'l discount + store "cash". I haven't worn shorts since 1990-something! Seems they'd be handy after foot surgery, though, and free works for me. LOL!
Praying all here have a good week leading up to Easter. I thought about Palm Sunday yesterday. Imagine knowing what would be immediately ahead and riding into Jerusalem anyway!! It's hard to imagine that depth of love for mankind. Hugs, Elise
I am so sorry you are under the weather. feel better soon.
DeleteThat is not right that your BIL keeps stretching this out and just bouncing around. I understand seeing relatives - but he needs to get off his bum and make the hard decision. Not fair to you at all.
You sound like me - can't tell you the last time I wore a pair of shorts. They would be nice after surgery and FREE is great!
I know - the love for mankind was tremendous. We truly aren't worthy!
Have a blessed week.
Cheryl, I've tried hard to be compassionate and patient during the past several months. We often had very short notice when he was coming with U-Haul loads, and each time the schedule changed. What's difficult is planning food, etc. Right now I have 3 dozen eggs in my fridge, because he eats eggs every morning for breakfast and was supposed to be here a few weeks ago. I *do* understand his life has been turned upside down, but am seeing a kind of perpetual adolescence I'm not sure I can deal with. It's just basic courtesy that's lacking. Lord, give me grace. Amen.
Delete--Elise
I think your hubby needs to have a talk with him (assuming your hubs brother). It truly sounds like he needs to find somewhere else to reside. This is such bad behavior and you just don't do that crap to family.
DeleteI do believe I would have to put my foot down.
Yes, it's Hub's younger brother. Not to air dirty family laundry, but Hub's parents and siblings have never (for decades) realized how rude they often are. It's why Hubs wasn't close to any of them. Right now I'm praying he'll decide he would rather be in the Phoenix area, but I'd never turn him out if he needed a place to stay... temporarily. If he does come here, though, we'll suggest he find a local apartment or something for longer term. Thank you for the support, Cheryl. I often wonder if I'm coming off like a terrible Christian. --Elise
DeleteOh Elise, I'm so sorry you are having flare ups....I wonder if a good nutritionist would help? Our daughters go a good one and we all study up on nutrition, I'm going to ask our daughter here at home if she has suggestions for you. : )
ReplyDeleteBermuda shorts free?! Polo shirts for free?! Wow. Now that is a great deal! lol I don't wear shorts either, it's been years. I do have a pair if I ever need shorts though. I enjoy Kohl's and am always hearing of great deals there! I bought some maxi dresses there and love them.
Good thoughts and reminder for Palm Sunday. Yes, so true, may we ponder the Cross this week and thank God for our Lives through Jesus Christ our Savior.
~Amelia

Elise, I'm so sorry I forgot to respond to your question. Gah! : / I'm wondering if flax oil caps would help Blue?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amelia. It's worth a try for the poor, itchy girl. She could go on pet prescription allergy meds, but she's so young that I'd rather not start there.
DeleteAs for Ulcerative Colitis, it's an auto-immune disease and I've tried supplements and dietary changes over the past 40+ years, but not much makes a difference other than giving my guts a rest and getting plenty of fluid and rest. Meds, of course, but I use them sparingly. Too many other side effects. There's just been too much stress, but this, too, shall pass.
Yes, God's love for all of us never ceases to amaze me. I don't think we're able to comprehend it. --Elise
Hi Cheryl, yes. : ) My blog is: My Forest Cathedral blogspot. I see there is another one out there but it's not blogspot. : ) Please come by anytime and have a cuppa so to speak!
ReplyDeleteI just put that Mexican casserole in the oven and used up some green enchilada sauce cans that have been needing to be used, and even some veggie cheese I wasn't crazy about but it'll be good in the casserole. I'm thankful the tortillas weren't freezer burnt, they were pretty iced up! I'm soaking my brown rice and will do that in the instantpot and serve some chili beans to go with the spinach 'enchilada' casserole.
Yes! I'm getting to where I really enjoy Chewy too. Things are delivered quickly and packaged very well too.
So there are allergy drops for doggy eyes? I have a schitzu that has very bad problems with gooky eyes and now even two of our larger dogs are having the problem too. I usually give our elderly little blind schitzu a third of a benadryl but drops would be better.
Great blog and communications going today! Love it!
: )
I am definitely going to be checking out the blog!!
DeleteI don't know about doggy eyes. I didn't look at dog items. I just typed in what I had gotten at the pet shop and found it at Chewy for cheaper. I need to really check out their site for other items.
Before finding these drops (they go in food or water), I had been known to occasionally use small doses of child liquid antihistamine. I like having a natural solution to things. Everyone knows I am not a big fan of doctors!!!!!!!
Elise, I'm not sure if you have seen my first comment to you about flax oil caps for your Blue but I have noticed that the Homeo Pet that Cheryl posted about also has a formula for Skin and Itch. Btw....If you try the flax oil caps, I buy the ones for us hoomans, the large ones. ; ) You could disguise them in butter, that is our disguise of choice here. : )
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw and answered, Amelia. So appreciate the suggestions!
DeleteHugs, Elise
Hi Elise, : ) I was wondering what formula of food is Blue eating? (Don't mean to be a bug but sometimes that's it)
DeleteI bet stress has not helped Elise, that really affects me. I've gotten where I put my phone on silent in the afternoon and have told loved ones that if it's very important to please call hubs.
DeleteWe have a married daughter with autoimmune issues and it can be so, so, so awful. I'm so, so, so sorry you are dealing with that. You can see her testimony here on Dr. Osborne's site: https://youtu.be/ovRgYTJr91I
I know for her, stress brings episodes on and her special diet has made a huge, huge difference. God bless you Elise, I'll be praying for you. (((hugs)))
First, Amelia, your daughter is beautiful and what an inspiring testimony! Thank you. My older sister was diagnosed with Celiac disease a few years ago. I've tried grain free diets, but doesn't work for me.
DeleteI was diagnosed with U.C. at age 16, was hospitalized a lot in the beginning and we even went to Stanford for care (back then). I've tried Naturopathic stuff, too. It's eased a lot with age. I avoid rich foods, anything processed, and have to watch fiber; in a flair I go low fiber until under control.
As for Blue, we've tried several dog foods. Specialty ones as well. She does best on a basic high protein brand and I give her 1 T. yogurt every morning and night, which has helped 100% with her digestion. The itching may be allergies, as our acre is filled with Juniper and Cedar trees?
As for stress? Well, I wish so much I could be like others who seem to handle everything with a deep, inner peace. I try. As I get older, I fret less. But also as I get older, I like a solid, dependable routine. LOL! Thank you so much, Amelia. God bless you and your whole family! --Elise
Thank you Elise, I will sure tell our daughter, she is very sweet on the inside too, I think she's been through so much it's made her even more tender hearted. She has two precious little tots now, ages 1 and 4.
DeleteYes, I hear you on stress. I'm very much like you and I just cannot pull a switch and not get nerved up. I'm far too sensitive of a person, the same sensitivity that helps me reach out to others and see things is turned against me too.
Oh my goodness, since 16. That must be so hard Elise. I'm glad that you can handle it more so now. In this day and age it must be very difficult with things going on at every angle and then family things too. I too love a peaceful life, it's like a shield of sorts isn't it?
God bless you and your family too Elise! : )
~Amelia
Glad to read that you are safe, Cheryl. We jhad intermittent rain and high winds with 70 mph gusts. Before the storm we were able to take some items to the rescue mission for their thrift shop and while there hubs got a few books and I found a large pyrex bowl that I have been looking for for $4 versus $15 in the stores. I found a recipe for microwave jam that only takes 9 minutes total but needed a larger bowl than what I had.
ReplyDeleteI am going to be without an oven for the next three weeks as that's the soonest a repair man can get here. The ignitors for the stove burners died and we had to unplug the stove. So we're lighting the burners the old fashioned way with a match but getting to the oven is impossible. So there will be no big batch baking for a while. Thankfully I made 2 loaves of raisin bread and cookies for my husband earlier last week. Spent the evenings reading "The Everlasting Meal" leftovers cookbook. Wow, over 500 pages of recipes to use leftovers and food scraps.
Praying for all of those effected by the storms. Cookie
Glad you are OK. Sounds like you got the same weather we did.
DeleteNice find at thrift store. $4 for large Pyrex is great.
Bummer on the oven. It seems I don't use mine that often - but if it was down - I would want to all the time!! LOL
The cookbook sounds interesting. Sounds like one that I would love!
Have a wonderful week.
I've been super thrifty as we're without a kitchen (flooring/paint/wall patches underway).
ReplyDeleteWednesday night before I lost the stove I cooked: batch of Spanish Rice, batch of Rice Pilaf, 2 9x13 pans of apple cinnamon oatmeal. I've cooked salmon on the grill, microwaved freezer zucchini (from the garden, roasted in the oven and vacuum sealed). And this week I received a box of 8 eggwich/turkey sausage sandwiches from a FB Buy-Nothing member. They are quite tasty!
I met hubster for dinner last Thursday night. Other than that, I have NOT gone to a restaurant of done take-out. I am major proud of myself!!! I do not make wise choices and I do not want to gain weight.
