Tuesday - Just Stuff

Happy Tuesday all.  It is a chilly yet sunny morning here.  I have been out and fed all the cats and the critters.
I think today I may take it a little easier!!!  I am pooped.  The last many days (actually week) have been busy.  So much to do.  I just want things done.  It seems like I have been reaching, squatting, lifting, moving and painting and cleaning for days!!!!  LOL!   One thing leads to another.  Aint it the way?
I have been sleeping good at night!

I think today I will limit myself to dusting and vacuuming and cleaning floors.  No heavy lifting.  Tomorrow, I believe I will go out and make a donation delivery.  My Blazer is getting pretty darn full.  I look around and I don't miss anything, nor does it really look like a lot is gone!  Crazy stuff - I guess that is a sure sign that there was too much!

This was the best pic I could get yesterday.  Baby kitty!!!!
It has been very skittish around me.  Yesterday it actually ate about a foot from me.  This morning it seemed skittish, but came in the greenhouse to eat.  I kept trying to pet while it was eating.  NOPE!  Then it climbed up to the bench where Blackie has his breakfast.  I put its dish up there, and it ate some more.  While petting Blackie, it let me pet it about 4 times!!!!!  I even held its bowl while it ate for a couple moments.  We are slowly making progress.  It seems to like the petting, then realizes what is happening and skits off!!!!!  LOL
I think Blackie gets tired of it in his face all the time.  This morning it was trying to love all over him, and he smacked it!  Like "give me my space!"
Still don't know if boy or girl - it is all white 'back' there - and I haven't gotten a close view!

It is getting comfortable wondering the back yard, thinking it is a hunter, watching the birdies, and sunning on the deck.

Look at all those leaves in that picture.  A week ago, they were all cleaned up!  Now the maple is about cleared off and they are on the ground again.  I guess they won't be going anywhere - so that will happen another day - my back says noooooo for now.
I cleaned them out of the drive and off the deck yesterday - along with working on clearing the Live Forever sedum out front.

Another cute pic from yesterday.  I just love watching them sun.  If you look closely, you can see a squirrel at the base of the tree in the rear of pic.

So, I am off to look at the computer a bit, then I will begin dusting. Oh boy - such fun at my house!!
I hope you are well and good.  Have a great day!
Check in and let us know what is going on at your home!

  1. Such a sweet looking kitten. I'm glad he's letting you get closer. It shouldn't take much longer, especially since you're feeding him. Hope you have a restful, peaceful day!

  3. Such a cutie! In a little bit of time it will come to you. Many years ago, when oldest was in high school, a feral cat had her kittens in our yard. Three little girls. At 6-8 weeks old (I'd been feeding them all), Momma vanished. We had Winken, Blinken and Nod. When oldest son moved out on his own, Winken moved with him. She and Blinken were the tamest; a neighbor took Blinken in while she was still a kitten. Nod remained feral, but a lady a few streets down fed her. I'm wondering if your kitten's momma brought it to you?
Nice pics of your squirrels, too. DO take it easy today!

    1. Love those names! I am not sure - I saw a cat I had never seen before kind of roaming the alley the other day. I was hoping it was Momma out looking. She went back the direction the other black cat goes. Not sure where they actually live.
      Thanks - I will rest.

  5. OT this is a small rant, posted separately. Feel free to skip.

Headlines this morning claim inflation only grew 3.2% in October. I have my Safeway receipt from the other day. 1/2 gallon jug of white vinegar was $4.99. 1 lb. of powdered sugar was $5.49. A bottle of salad dressing (which I didn't buy) was $3.99-4.99. There was a LOT I didn't buy. And I'm not buying those published figures, either. It had been 2-1/2 months since I'd been in a grocery store because of the foot surgery. Price increases were staggering in that 2-1/2 months. Don't believe everything you read. **Rant over.**

    1. You need to remember that when they figure inflation - it does NOT include food or fuels costs AT ALL! Soooooo - that explains much!

  6. Good day Cheryl, That baby sure is sweet looking! I hope it becomes more friendly. I love your squirrels! Take it easy today those dust bunnies will still be there when you get around to them.
*We went to Costco yesterday, I hate crowds. But I got my turkey and a few other things for Thanksgiving dinner. The price of the turkey was comparable to the stores around here so I just got it.
I can't believe it's almost Christmas, it's like it was September and all of a sudden Thanksgiving and Christmas.

    1. Wish we had a Costco closer than a 2 hr. drive away, LaurieS. Why I hobbled into stores on Saturday in the walking boot is I needed to price/buy some items for Thanksgiving, when our oldest son will join us here. No turkey sales here yet. We'll probably do a large chicken from the freezer. "On sale" Ocean Spray cranberry sauce was $2 per can. I'll hobble into Walmart when I'm up to the crowds.

    2. LAURIE - It is cute! I hope for a friendly baby too.
You are right - the dust bunnies aren't going anywhere - unfortunately!!! So far, I haven't started tackling them!
I have never been to a Costco - I guess they are similar to Sams. It has been years since I have gone to Sams.
Glad you got all your turkey day goodies. I don't blame you - get it while there instead of a dozen stores. I need nothing for my little dinner. I will be going to a nieces for Tday and I will make goodies here on Friday.
Time is flying by so quickly!!!!!!

    3. Elise, I would really have to weigh a trip to Costco if it was 2 hrs away! Thankfully its only about 20 minutes from home. It's where we get gas too. The turkey was .99 lb and it's not frozen. Winco here is the same price but frozen and Fred Meyer and Safeway are too ridiculous to mention. Did I say I hate Albertson's. We also have a Turkey day lunch at the Veteran's center, so taking rolls for that.
*I've never been to a Sam's Club so I don't know if they are the same.

  8. I have to think the kitten has been mistreated by some human(s) in it's young life. I'm sure as it becomes accustomed to you, and watches your interactions with Blackie, it will learn to trust. Blackie is being the big brother. :)
Sounds like a plan to take it a bit easier today. Your back will appreciate the rest, I'm sure.

    1. You may be right. It wants to get loved on - and allowed it when close to Blackie. Time will tell. It sure is sweet.
My back is already thanking me!

  11. Hope you can catch the kitty and get it fixed. That's really important! Wonderful that you were able to pet it even for a moment. :)
Glad you're taking an Easy Day.
I need to get potatoes for Thanksgiving, that's my contribution. Maybe tomorrow. :)

  12. Oh my goodness, that’s cuteness on legs!!!! I’m not a cat person at all, but kittens are just the cutest things.
For the next two days we are helping an older gent friend move house, from one side of town to the other. His landlord has decided to sell after him having lived there for 38 years. He is upbeat about it, I think he was lonely, and is moving to a much friendlier neighbourhood.
Elise, I agree with your comment about increased prices. I have found just recently things seem to have hiked up again. Louise

Poor guy - that is a long time to live somewhere and have it sold out from under you. I hope his new neighborhood is a good fit for him and he has nice neighbors. Nice of you to help.

  13. Oh I love the baby kitty and the squirrel. Such cute pictures. We have been donating too...I went to donate and missed a box in the truck somehow. I hope to get by there again soon, maybe I'll have more then too. You know when I was cleaning cabinets and standing on the stool my toes hurt that night. So weird I didn't know toes could hurt. Take it easy!

  14. That is a cute kitten. I love kittens, but I am allergic to cats. I just look and pet, no living or cuddling with me. I think the leaves are winning.

  16. LOL "I think today I will limit myself to dusting and vacuuming and cleaning floors." Oh me oh my! You crack me up Cheryl! You're going to limit yourself with all of that? ROFL Wow, you have more energy and strength than anyone! Goodness gracious! PTL you are strong like that but that to me, is a lot of work in one day! : )

Awwww.....That kitty is adorable. We have a little girl cat marked much like that and she's very sweet. Her name is Momo. That little kitten and Blackie will probably be nice company for each other even if Blackie swatted at her...That's funny. I can so see that. Those squirrels are amazing, they must feel very safe there. How fun to watch them!

As for me? I'm just doing the regular duties here, collecting wastebasket trash, litter box etc. Supper etc. I did make myself a little onion brown rice gravy today for Thanksgiving. Took a piece of stuffing out of the freezer to make sure it tasted okay...it did. A bit oniony. But fine. Washed a load of clothes too. Just the regular stuff. Tomorrow littles will be here plus we have to run into town for business. I can't complain. It sounds like you are doing great and your back is healing fast too!

I appreciate you! I enjoy keeping up with everyone here. : ) ~Amelia

Glad you have figured out ways to do all your favorites without meat! Sounds like you kept busy. Have fun with the kiddos!!

  17. Since people always contribute to the feast I always send some things home with them. It seems fair to me!! I do use up all the rest as letfovers which no one seems to mind here. But one thing we don't do anymore is my Mother-in-law's 7 day soup using the turkey carcass and anything else left. And I mean everything ! The kids always groaned and Bob always hated de-boning the carcass.. so we quit!!

  18. Such a cute bitty kitty! I was telling Erin about it and she said "awww" but definitely doesn't need another kitty. This little baby will warm up to you.

  19. Please Read. You have a great post here, Have anyone here know Goji Berries... yes... I tried those too.For my health conditions, Those sweet, red berries seemed to help, but only during the time when I consumed them. I don't want to take a drug for the rest of my life, so why would I want to take a natural supplement everyday for the rest of my life (although Goji berries are very tasty and are highly nourishing). To me this was not a cure either (and I'm LOOKING for the CURE).
Up to that point, I hadn't found a cure. I felt like a young jumbled mess. I continued to have extreme pain, but continued on my path to healing. I started to focus on myself and not everyone else. When I was a young adult, I took on too much responsibility out of a sense of obligation. This was no longer healthy for me, so I resigned from all my projects and groups. Those days to come were the best [and worst] days. I took a lot of time off work, yet begun to feel so extremely exhausted. Many health professionals "diagnosed" me with adrenal fatigue & Hiv,Prostate Cancer so my situation was annoying then I keep searching for permanent cure online that's when I came to know of Dr jekawo herbal doctor hands whom god has blessed with ancestral powers and a gift to heal people with disease like .Cancers,Alzheimer's disease,HPV,Men & Women Infertility,Melanoma, Mesothelioma, Diabetes, Multiple myeloma, Parkinson's disease,Neuroendocrine tumors,Herpes, Hiv/Aids,Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma,, chronic diarrhea, COPD, Hepatitis... So I made a purchase of his herbal medicines and I have been watching my health for 6 years now and I actually confirmed that his herbal medicines are a permanent cure and I'm so happy that I came to know of his herbal healings. You can contact Dr Jekawo herbal doctor Email: drjekawo@gmail.com if you went through exactly what I go through in terms of health conditions because to be honest there is more to learn about natural herbs than medical drugs.
