Hello to all on this Wednesday. Hope this finds you all well and safe. It sounds like many of you northern gals are about to get slammed with a significant weather event - stay safe. It is 40*F this morning already! The temps were rising all night. We get a couple of warmer days, and then lots of rain tomorrow, so the snow will all be gone. I think we are on a tremendous roller coaster ride around here as far as weather goes!
Christmas is just days away. I think the picture says a lot to all of us. We are all so blessed in this life, and we need to take time to just appreciate what we DO have and not worry about what we COULD have. Take time to enjoy the moment.Yesterday I got a call from my old boss and dear friend, that moved to CO many years back. It was just like we hadn't missed any time apart - the conversation was lovely. So good to hear her voice and her husbands in the background! Old friends are gifts we need to stop and enjoy. Those simple gifts are sometimes the best. Take time to look at what is really in your life, I bet it is the important stuff!
I have finished up Christmas gifts - I made grape jelly the other day to put in some of the gift baskets. Many look so forward to it.
It always looks pretty. I tasted the 'crumbs' in the bottom of the pan and off the ladle and YUM! It tastes like summer. Funny, I always put off making jelly - and for some reason this year it just seemed so easy to make. I did put off doing it, but it seemed more fun this year. Not sure why - maybe just my frame of mind.I have enough grapes in the freezer to do another batch - maybe after the new year.
What fun that would be on Christmas morning!
Take it slower today - do not get in a rush. Look around and see the beauty in the world. YES, there is beauty all around. Take time to enjoy and smile.
If it doesn't get done - well maybe it wasn't to be. Some things just don't matter.
Have a beautiful and blessed day!

Happy Wednesday to you, Cheryl. Your grape jelly looks lovely in their jars and sounds delicious. Old friends are just the best! I love reconnecting with one when it seems like no time at all has passed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Belinda. I agree, those are the true friendships. You can just pick up a conversation, feel comfortable, and it seems like you last talked last week.
DeleteYour jelly looks so good. I put some things off sometimes and then wonder why because it really isn't that time consuming.
ReplyDeleteYes, old friendships are the BEST!! Enjoy your day, Cheryl.
I usually don't enjoy making jelly - but for some reason this year I found it fun. Takes no time.
DeleteOld friends are gifts.
"Make new friends and keep the old. One is silver, the other, gold". I learned that at camp when I was little. :)
ReplyDeleteYour jelly looks like stained glass, so pretty, great color. :) I hope to deliver some cookies today.
The cold weather has passed by and the temps will go into the 50s! There is snow forecast for one night, but the next day will be warmer.

That is a great saying. And TRUE.
DeleteThanks. I hope your gifts are well received!
Glad the cold weather has passed. Hope it stays away.
It is supposed to be 67 degrees today! I am so happy bc I do not do cold well. We have an office meeting/party so I have to travel to the main office today. Apparently, they are putting on a spread of real food like baked chicken, sliced roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, and peach cobbler! I can eat that food!! Yay! I have trouble eating with things like hot wings, pizza, rich desserts, so I am relieved it is a meal I can enjoy. I love the other foods, I just can’t eat them without repercussions. ReplyDeleteOh 67 sounds wonderful. How fun on the Christmas dinner. I am glad you will be able to eat it and enjoy it. There are things that are tasty - but I understand when a person just can't do it. No sense being miserable for just a meal. Have fun.
DeleteYum, grape jelly! It is jewel-like in the jars. I used to make it when my girls were little and we had a huge grape arbor. It is a gift that will be well received.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, there is so much for which to be thankful, grateful beyond measure. Long-time friendships, family, a full pantry and freezer, vehicles that run and get us from place to place, the ability to study the Scriptures, the list is infinite. Can't leave out our four-legged children!
The sun is glorious today! We have a few outdoor chores while it is dry. Enjoy your day!
The jelly looks wonderful! "One is silver one is gold", I love it.
ReplyDeleteI tried that nut mix that you posted the other day it's good but sticky.
Today I'm going to make shortbread. That's the plan.
Those would be small pancakes, but oh so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe storm has arrived and I expect my daughter and I will be out shovelling in the next hour or so. The Christmas concert has been cancelled but the principal has arranged for the children to perform this morning at the church. The program is being video taped, and he'll send out a link for parents to view and share with family and friends.
