Hello all. HAPPY APRIL! I surely hope this finds all well and safe.
It is a cloudy morning here, as rain will be coming soon. It was supposed to rain overnight - but did not. It was 60*F outside when I got up this morning, and now it is 59*. 50's for the day - then moving back to upper 70's tomorrow. What a seesaw. Yesterday was 80. That is spring weather!
You all know I am all about natural living as much as possible. I love nature, and it gives us so much. Not only does nature provide us with plants that can help us, but it gives joy and laughter and whimsy in our lives. Those things are so very important.
Exercise is so important, even if it is just walking. If you can't walk - do armchair exercises of some sort. Gardening can be exercise and it provides good healthy food. Maybe even getting out and donating your time, that is exercise, going to work, watching the kiddos - it is all exercise.
God has given us everything we need on this earth. We just need to use it to our best ability.
People and animals and plants and flowers, etc. give so much joy. It is all so very important.
I know some people who are never happy with anything or anyone - always negative attitudes, and they are miserable and have the worst health of all that I know.
We get one go around in this world - make it good. Enjoy ALL things.
Eat the good food. Laugh heartly. Love your family and friends. Rest. Pray/meditate. Move.
It is all FREE and it is all GOOD for you!!!!!
Nature is amazing and can do so much for us. Fresh air and sunshine - my 2 favorite natural things. The sun just does so much for us - not just Vit. D. Open those blinds and let it inside when possible, or get outside and you will get both fresh air and sunlight. Even if it not a bright sunny day - you benefit.
I am outside 365 days a year - several times a day - regardless of the weather. It may not be long, but at least 15-minute increments even on those nasty days. Knock wood - I seem to have an excellent immune system, for which I am very thankful. I do believe the sun and air have given me that!
So take time every day to enjoy all the many gifts that are presented before you. There are many, regardless of your situation. You may have to look (be aware), but they are there - so many blessings of all sorts. Take advantage of nature - it is healthy and helpful.
Take care of yourselves and have a beautiful and blessed day.

I couldn't agree more with this post. There are so many things to enjoy, and Nature gives us so much. I'm like you and spend as much time outside every day as possible.
ReplyDeleteHappy April, I hope it is a wonderful month for you.
Thanks. IF we just open our eyes there is so much to be thankful for. Little things are big things. I love the great outdoors - even from a city view.
DeleteNew month - new beginnings.
What natural remedies do you recommend for glaucoma? Barbara M.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I understand there are no natural remedies for it. However, saying that, there are ways we can tend to our eye health and maybe help relieve some symptoms.
DeleteIt is from pressure and optic nerve damage.
A nutrient rich diet helps with eye health - greens, nuts and seeds and Omega's 3.
Ginkgo biloba extract helps with the blood flow to the optic nerve. Bilberry extract is full of antioxidants.
Get aerobic exercise to help relieve the pressure.
Just good health helps a lot of different maladies. If things can't be cured after they happen, then we need to do the best we can to manage.
Now, I am NO DOCTOR - so you need to research and talk with doctors on regular check-ups.
Both your posters were pinned to my Taking Care of the Temple board on Pinterest. April 1 is a blessed day, not a day to play tricks on people. April is the threshold to warmer weather and gardening. I have always enjoyed April, even though my mom died in April 1980 and I lost my first son in April 1970. April is the month to pull out the pretty pastel tops and pants, lighter weight shoes and breathe the fresh air. April is starting out stormy but this rain will help the gardens and lawn to become a bright emerald green. The large Japanese maple in the backyard is really taking off and all the lilacs are getting ready to bloom.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, I am so grateful for your blog, and I'm sure many ladies feel the same. Besides encouraging us to be prudent with what we have, you have proven that there is life after losing a loved one. I ready Terri Cheney's two blogs, Blue House Journal and A Fresh Season of Life, and her husband recently passed away, very suddenly. I pray for her transition without John, as well as praying for you and your sweet sister.
I thought both were wonderful when I saw them. Like you I do like April - it is a time of rebirth.
DeleteMom and Daddy both had birthdays in April (a day apart), sis does as well and Glen passed on mom's birthday the 23rd.
Losing a spouse is a new season in life and quite the transition. It was horrible - but G always told me he knew I would be ok. He said I was strong and could conquer all things. I even saw him in a dream shortly after his passing, telling me I had this and just keep going forward and be happy. I cried & begged him in the dream not to leave, and he smiled and said, 'you got this'. How can I not after that?
Life is full of seasons - good and bad.
I just see G in all the beauty and good things - that helps.
Thank you for your kind words.
Agreed. Some of the wealthiest seem miserable. Enough to be healthy and safe. When we look for good, we see it!
ReplyDelete100%!!!!!!! The rich and famous don't have ANY advantages over us 'normal' folk. I agree - look and you will find.
