Simplifying - Starts with You

Hello, this last day of July!  It has been raining since the wee hours of the morning.  Seems to have stopped at the moment.  This front is to bring in a cooler front of weather - YAY!  It is actually cooler outside than inside right now.  That hasn't happened all month!  At least we start August a little cooler and getting to air out the house.  Look forward to getting outside and doing yardwork in the next couple days.  I hope you are going to get some COOL as well!

Boy oh boy, aren't these truth?  All of these things shape what we think, how we act, how we feel, etc.
It is amazing that everything in some way shapes us.  Every experience and every thought.  We need to work really hard on making the influences in life positive ones.

I agree to all these things.  If you go about your day, doing little things, it all adds up to a big and more positive day.
I truly do most of these.  I get up, get my drink together, feed the cat and get dressed - then make my bed.  I let it air for a short bit before making.  I need to drink more water - but I do drinks tea or something all day long.
Probably my biggest distraction is the computer.  I need to limit my time.  I also need to get rid of the super negative people on FB.  I guess it is kind of like a train wreck - you just feel you need to look, then you are upset!
We need to take care of ourselves, especially as we get older.  Life is short, and we don't need the negative.  We need to work at being happy and routines seem to help regulate our time and that SIMPLIFIES!
I do love to get up early, and most assuredly have a routine.  I say my gratitude list and prayers first thing and lastly each day (and often many times in between).
I like 12!  Smile when answering the phone. I never really thought about it, but I do.  I do not answer the phone unless it is a number or name I know - so WHEN I do answer - I know who it is, and I always smile!

So read the lists (yes reading in on both) and think about them.  They truly can help you get a nice simple routine in order, and I guarantee if you do that - like will be more pleasant.

Wishing you all a beautiful day and weekend.
Hoping you get to harvest some yummy food or buy at a farm market.
Eat healthy!

Have a super one!!!!!

  1. #14 is absolutely true. We automated our house payment when we bought our first home at age 23. Never ever a temptation to float those extra 15d without penalty AND with growing accrued interest. Then we slowly automated every other bill as companies offered it. It certainly eliminates frivolous spending when money is tight. People say they "don't want to lose control of my money". I think it's a funny response!

Happy Thursday ya'll! I slept in till 0600. 9h sleep feels luxurious this morning :-)

    1. Good for you. Some things work great for some and not others. I think many people would be overdrawn on a regular basis! I keep waaaayyy more than enough in account to cover bills. Others actually go week to week - probably more times than not.
I have not automated everything, but do have insurance and a couple others done. I do pay what I can by phone now as well. Call me old fashioned, I know I am.
Yay - glad you got a good sleep!!!!!

  2. Excellent tips for living a good life! So many things to consider in both posters. All points are good but I agree with both numbers fifteen.

The highlight of my day yesterday was going to the Plainfield Goodwill with Alana. Found some really nice pieces to replace items that became unwearable after I lost weight. It was my late birthday present. When we came out, she said that the car would pick us up. Sure enough, she did something on her phone and her car backed out of its parking spot, turned around, drove up to us and stopped right in front of us. I told her that was sorta like "beam me up, Scotty". Quite different than my 2000 Buick! ha! Had a good visit with her and Erin came by too. Dogs were in dog heaven with all the attention.

I heard the rain last night and the Farmer said we got over 2" of rain. It's unusual for it to be this cool after all the 90* days. We'll take it, though!

    Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Wow - that sounds like the Jetson's to me. I will never get used to things like that. Give me my old-fashioned car - I drive!!!!
Glad you found some nice things.
It rained pretty steady for a long time. I would say we got about that much too. Still misting out there.
It sure feels good! AC off and windows open!!!

  3. Lol Cheryl, I laughed to myself about your FB comment! I hope it's not me!!! I do most of the same routine as you. Except for the bed, the cat gets miffed when the bed's not made cause he likes to lay on the fuzzy blanket Have a great week-end!

    1. Oh my heavens - it is not you!!!!! The couple that infuriate me are blood family!!! LOL
It seems people just say so much crap on FB that they would never say face to face.
Once my bed is made, if someone comes by or knocks on the door or the vacuum starts - Bitsy is under the covers! He loves to hide there. Love yours loves the fuzzy blankie! They are just so darned cute. Each with their special little personalities.
      Miss you my sweet friend!!!!

  4. While none of my payments are done automatically, I can pay all of them online and do so on the 15th, and towards the last day of the month. Routine actually keeps me sane during trying times.
I carry very little cash unless I plan on purchasing craft supplies, or going thrifting.
I shop every second week with perhaps a trip to pick up prescriptions or fill with gas another week.
An addition to my usual routine just happens during the spring to fall and that is harvesting and processing what we grow, or foraging for food. It gets me out, gives me some needed exercise, though this year the fresh air is not as abundant as other years due to the smoke, but mornings are usually pretty good to work outside in the yard.

    God bless.

    1. Routines are very important and they do keep us on track. I think they keep us sane too!
Love the processing and harvesting - and growing. It is all just so magical to me.

  5. I’ve been needing to drink more water too and did manage to get 60 ounces in yesterday, which is better than most days. Routines are definitely a good thing to keep the days running smoothly. Those are both really good lists.

  6. We also had some rain and then today has been much cooler, ending a heat wave. It was so nice to feel chilly first thing this morning. And open windows for the fresh air. Glorious!
