Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. I believe!
A good heart, a kind word, a hand up, a smile.............yes - those are Santa. It doesn't matter what time of the year it is - we can all be Santa in spirit each and every day. NEVER forget that. YOU can make a difference.
I know people always say "what can one person do?". Well, one person can accomplish a lot. Maybe not to many, but to one at a time. One at a time can change a life!
I absolutely love the movie Prancer with Sam Elliott and Cloris Leachman. It has been around a lot of years - the story is about the daughter who has the love and joy and spirit of Christmas. Her belief in Santa and his reindeer is adorable and she lets no one deter her. (Oh, she is a stinker - but has a good heart). This movie to me explains the 'pure' joy of believing and giving. If you get a chance to find this movie and watch it - it is worth it. I have it in my collection.
Here is a cute idea for a simple dessert. Strawberries and whip cream. How cute!
I hope you all have a great last weekend before Christmas. I know we are all busy in the Santa workshops and Mrs. Claus bakeries! Enjoy this time - as it only happens but once a year.
Go out and be the SANTA that changes someone's day! 💖💖💖
Be the light someone needs!
BLESSINGS!
Cheryl, I so agree with you that "Santa" embodies a spirit. In years past, we would all gather at my SIL's home. She was one of 7 siblings and all told there were 17 nieces/nephews. One Christmas eve, she got off the phone to announce that someone else was joining us. My young niece said, "Mom, where will we put them?" to which my SIL replied, "Oh, Brenda, in a small house there's always room for one more." That also embodies the spirit of Christmas and one that serves all year long.
ReplyDeleteLove that story. Absolutely! I have a very small house, and by quite a lack of communication I had over 40 show up for Thanksgiving dinner one year!!!!! I had planned on about half that. But they all ate, and they pulled up a step or piece of floor and had a good time. It is still the one they all talk about.
DeleteWe are as good as our acts - BE Santa all the time.
Oh, thank you so much, Cheryl. I so needed to see this post today! Yes, yes, YES! --Elise
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. Just a small thing and we are Santa!
DeleteAlways keep him in yor heart!
What a wonderful story (and sentiment) Mona. Thank you! --Elise
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome my friend.
DeleteWhen my son was about 7 or 8 years old, we were driving back from my parents after Christmas, and he said to me, "Mom, I know who Santa is."
ReplyDeleteMy first reaction, was oh no he's too little to not have a belief in Santa. But I simply asked, "Oh, who is Santa". He said "Grandma!" I told him that Grandma is certainly one of Santa's helpers, and that Santa needs as many helpers as he can get because the world is so big. He was satisfied with that answer and I was happy he didn't think it was me.
As a adult he's told me that he knew Santa wasn't real but he pretended because I believed. Either way, the magic was still there. Now, of course, we have our Eli to share the magic with.
I love that. Sneaky little fellow! Yes indeed, each of us is a Santa or a Helper - every day.
DeleteThe innocence of children - I wish we could bottle it!!!
Always keep that magic alive!
I truly believe in the power of one. One person can smile and talk to a lonely person, one person can wipe the tears of a child, one person can share what they have with someone who has not. If we all lived the power of one, the world would know peace.
ReplyDeleteAMEN - truer words were never spoken.
DeleteMaybe that should be our resolution for 2022! EACH of us!!
Be the power of one - be mighty!
Cute little treats! We are all as good as our acts. This goes back to what Yeshua told his disciples...love one another.
ReplyDeleteSo correct. The golden rule should be followed every day.
DeleteI agree!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that Dolly Parton's 'Coat of Many Colors' movie is on tonight in my part of the country on NBC at 8. It is one precious movie!
Blessings!
Thank you - such a sweet movie. There are a few good ones out there.
DeleteI just love the movie Prancer. We have it in our collection too, and watch it often. I wonder what happened to the actress who played the little girl? She was adorable.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite movies. I have no idea - may have to look that up one day. She was sure a handful!!!! But a sweetheart.
DeleteI love the Santas!
ReplyDeleteThe are too cute and easy too!
DeleteYou are right Cheryl, Santa Claus does live in all of us but we need to get past the time of the year thing. There are families out there everyday struggling to feed their children, keep the heat and water on. I am so blessed to have everything I need but be assured I do not live a fancy live. Like you I keep a good pantry and freezer, my home is mortgage free, my car is fourteen years old. I live well with my 3 spoiled dogs. I count it as a blessing that I can buy a Christmas feast for a family. (Most often this is my favorite Walmart employee who brings joy to everyone that comes in her store) she is a single Mom of five, mind you her kids are adults but it gives her such joy to provide a wonderful Christmas day for her family. I will say that I do not buy everything at Walmart, some of the other stores have better buys on meat. I just get everyting together buy shopping smart and taking it to her at work. There is always a need at our elementary schools for coats, shoes or socks. That can be a great christmas blessing for children, it is not a toy but something that keeps them warm, makes them feel part of their peer group. Children are thrilled to have a new coat or shoes.I hope we can keep this in our mind all year long because the need is there for so many. Some people worry that the money they donate does not get to the people who need it. So you pick the people and causes for your community!
ReplyDeleteYou are 100% correct!!!!!!!
DeleteWe must keep Christmas in our hearts every day. There is much need.
I have a school chum who helps a lot of hungry people on our side of town and I donate to help him out with things from time to time - not just at Christmas.
We could go catch up school lunch funds that have gotten behind - buy school supplies - coats, hats, shoes, etc.
ANYTHING could be a tremendous help to others.
You and I are very blessed, as are many here. We can all do a little to help and the world would be better for it.
Thanks!!!!
I try and be Santa every day of the year.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Bless you and thank you!!!!!
DeleteI had forgotten all about that movie! It was wonderful and I shall have to seek it out to watch again. You are right about the difference kindness makes, no matter how small it may be.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a fun and meaningful movie.
DeleteYes, little things DO matter.
