When it Rains.......

 Howdy Ho friends!
Yep - when it rains it pours!  I am looking forward to some brighter days for sure.  Needless to say, this was not the planned post for today.  Don't know if anyone saw the comment I left at the end of the comments from Weekly Wrap Up - but my computer DIED!  Full on death!!!!!!!!

I tried to get on to post from my tablet - but no - it was capable of handling blogger it said.  It only let me comment - not do a post.
I was up almost all night last night.  I think I slept about 2 hours.

Not only did the computer die - it happened just when I found out (at closing time) that Blazer wouldn't be ready.  Oh, they had the fuel line fixed all handy dandy - but it "just came to their attention" that someone tried to break into my car.  Yeah!  RIGHT!
No windows broken or damage to body - but they broke the handle on driver side.  It is to be fixed today and they are delivering the vehicle to me - according to them.  Darn tootin' Skippy!!!!
Cheryl is not a happy camper AT ALL.

So my neighbor took me out this AM to buy myself a new computer.  I have most of it set up and working - still a lot of little things to figure out.  Windows 11 - so different.

                                                         "What you talking about?"

I have actually surprised myself at how much I have set up and working!!!!!  I am not computer savvy.

Any way - just talked with them a bit ago and they will have the car 'home' soon.  She asked if she could take my card info for payment.  NO - not till I see how my car is and make sure there is no additional damage.  I told her, I would call her back when I found the time!!!!  Kind of how they work.

I am very sorry to be belly aching again!!!!!  Seems I have griped a lot lately.  I don't like that.
I do know I have spent a lot of extra funds in the past few weeks!  GEESH!  Oh well, it all works out and some people actually have legitimate concerns in this world - mine do not compare.

So have a great day - and hopefully all will be back to normal tomorrow!

Christmas Bit today - Me being amazed at ALL the stuff Santa brought!  That was very unusual to get so much.  My folks must have had a good year!
Notice the TV, the curtains and the decor - all 50's!!!!!!!

Later my friends!

  1. Yes it is aggravating. Business have no work ethics today. Pitiful. Computer is a pain - but I have been in need for a while. I procrastinate until I am forced!!!

  2. How old were you in this picture? I see a nice tricycle! We had those kind of window treatments too.
Wow, so sorry on the computer but I know it will last a good long while.
Auto repair places are aggravating. We have to take ours to a dealer for recall repairs then they call all the time wanting to sell us another car.
I hope your day goes better. Hugs

    1. I would say around 4! Yes, most years nothing that big was received.
Oh the computer will be fine - at least that was sort of easy. LOL
The Blazer saga just keeps getting worse! Not a happy camper at the moment! Oh well, it will soon be done (I hope).
      Thanks!

    1. I usually have good luck - the past week has been something. Yeah, I get the Blazer back - but don't think it is all A-OK. Long story!!! I need a drink!!!!!!

  4. Well, you certainly are getting everything fixed all at once ;). Now that I am used to windows 11, I like it, easier to find thing like settings. But not for the first few days ;). I really like that you declined to pay for the car repair until you see your car, very smart! Happy learning curve, hilogene in Az

    1. It sure seems that all is getting done at once. Still lots of things need to be done in the near future.
Yeah - long story short - It will cost me waaaayyyy less than I though. Speaking ones mind does pay off sometimes!!!

  5. One thing I learned over the last few years, especially when it comes to car repairs and major purchases, we have to use our voice and let them know WE mean business. There is no man standing behind us and we deserve to be heard and attended to, just as if we were a man. You GO girl!!!! Give 'em a piece of your mind. Proud of you!

    1. Well the owner got a piece of my mind this afternoon, probably one I shouldn't lose!!!!! LOL
He was a bit intimidated that a 'lady' spoke up for sure. He even called my neighbor and asked how we get along. Very unprofessional! My expense is going to be a lot less - I used my "inner" voice!!!!!!

    2. Thanks Bobi. I try to be positive and upbeat - just sometimes the system of people let you down. My what a circle jerk it has been.
I hope the rest of the week is a much better way to go. I think it will be.
Thank you for your kind words and for being here.

  6. Why would they want information to charge you for car break-in repairs obviously happening when they had your car? You don't complain too much. People think I do. well, they don't have to read. I have 11 and did not have any problems using it. Maybe I am doing something wrong if I had no problems...lol. Why would they call your neighbor? To see if you are a pain? I would complain to someone above them about that call!

    1. They paid for all the repairs for the vandalism - not me.
My neighbor had reached out to them and recommended them - we have both used them before. He was just being a good guy - well, they were out of bounds to ask him if he got along with me! We get along fine - never a cross word. We help each other when we can. I talked with the owner - he didn't appreciate my criticism!!!!! LOL
I am finding W11 a lot better than I thought - just different. That is ok!

  7. So sorry your computer died on you, but it seems you've already mastered the new one. Good for you!
As for the shop owner who called your neighbour, shame on him. That would be the last time his business got my business. Again, good on you for standing up for yourself.
I do so hope nothing else happens, they do say things happen in 3's. Take care!

    1. Oh neither one of us will ever use him again. I already have a guy lined up for future work - I used when G was alive. I had just forgot the name - now I know. G knew him personally.
The computer is much easier than I thought. That was a good part of the day! BUT, my baby is home!!!!!!!!!

  8. These are the reasons we are frugal. Windows 11 does take a bit of getting used to, but I am loving it now.

    God bless.

    1. AMEN sister. I am just glad I can do the things that need done and not go into debt.
I kind of like it - it is really different to navigate though!

  9. I'm thinking that TV in the Christmas picture was like ours and you had to turn it on a few minutes before your program began so it could warm up. I tried to explain this recently to a younger person and I think they thought I was nuts. Everything is instant now.
Calling the neighbor to see what HE says about you ?? Oh, that is too too much. Get your car and wave bye bye. I'd boycott them with you, but doubt that will help.

    1. The TV did have to warm up before watching. That was the first TV mom and dad had. I remember that programming was only certain hours of the day too - not 24 hours.
Yep - it just more than my brain can comprehend. What a jerk. He will get no more business from me and he won't get a good review!

  10. I hope things start looking up for you. I love the Christmas picture. The strands of tinsel on the tree remind me of my childhood Christmases. Blessings to you. Lynn Ewing

I love the old trees and the way they looked. People don't decorate like that anymore!

  11. Lets hope that's the end of the financial drains. Pays to be frugal and have an emergency fund. Glad you have a good neighbour to take you get your new computer. Hope you get the Blazer's back soon and in one piece. Sweet photo of you looking at your presents.

  14. Cheryl,
You’re not a complainer!!! Just keeping us up to date! I love the pic at the end. There is so much to check out….how delightful! Btw I can’t believe someone tried to break into your Blazer…..they really need to address their security! I think you’re handling it just right. - Carol

    1. Thanks - I just look so bewildered at all that stuff! LOL
Yeah, I couldn't believe it either, and when I questioned them on security cameras and such - they just hem-hawd around. Oh well, the lost a lot of business because of their antics!
