I have been in a mood lately - as have many of us. Life is uncertain and confusing. We have all been doing what we can to stock up, learn, share ideas and just get ready for whatever. May I say UGH! I have always been a planner and a prepper - but some days I am over it (the reasons).
We all get in a ho-hum kind of mood now and again. We let daily events get us down - it is normal. TURN OFF the news. TURN OFF the computers. TURN OFF the TV. GET RID of the people that bring you down.
Get up and move, do new projects, cook the food, sing the songs - and like the song says "dance like no one is watching". Give yourself back the CONTROL!!!!!!!!!
I got up. In a warm home. I have my kitties. Food for them and myself. The sky was clear and I saw the moon and stars this morning. The air was brisk and cool and refreshing. I have clothes to wear. My birds are singing a sweet song and the squirrels are playing. I can turn a knob and have clean water. I can flip a switch and have light. I have funds to pay my bills. I have family and friends. I have health. I see the sunshine. The list goes on and on and on.
We get so complacent and just take so much for granted. Shame on us. No matter where we live or what is going on - there is always something to be thankful and grateful for. ALWAYS!
We complain about cleaning house - be glad you have lodging. Many don't.
Today is laundry day - ugh. I have clothes to wear and shoes to wear. I can pick what I wear. Many have what is on their backs.
Crud - there are more dishes to wash. That means I have food. Many don't.
I need to clean the toilet today. I have indoor plumbing. Many don't.
I go outside and hear the traffic, the dogs barking, the kids yelling and playing. Many only hear war.
I woke tired, sore and achy. I was stiff and hard a hard time getting started. Many didn't wake.
I have family who have big health issues. They have doctors and hospitals (the best) to care for them and treat them and find answers. Many don't.
I get bored and do nothing some days. OK. Many can't stop - they must keep moving just to survive.
I don't sleep well some nights. BUT I am in a soft and warm bed. Many have none.
I think I probably wrote this more today for me than anything. I need to remind myself some days just how good it is. Yes, it gets depressing. Regardless of restrictions and rules - I still have free will and a mind to decide for myself. Life is still good.
Regardless to world events - you still have CONTROL of your mind and actions.
Take a moment or two and just remember how good life really is. We all have loss in life and loss of lives - but sadly, that is PART of life.
Take control of what you can and THRIVE.
We can all come out of this better people. Learn, live and enjoy whatever you can.
Blessings to each of you.
I am grateful for you all!!!!
oh goodness, I needed this so bad. Life has been tough the last few days, and I'd fallen into a big slump. Thanks for reminding me how much I have to be grateful for.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. I think many of us need a boost right now.
DeleteGod bless you.
You rock Cheryl!

Ahhh thank you!
DeleteThanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteI have been in a grumpy mood this week.
I am grateful for you and your blog is a blessing to many. Thank you!
SMILE SUNSHINE! You are welcome. We all need reminders!
DeleteThank you
Yes, we must keep going and praying. It's a beautiful morning here and as you wrote, so much to be thankful for.
ReplyDeleteWe must keep tying our shoes and taking care of ourselves and thanking the good Lord.
My oldest daughter is having troubles right now, she's unmarried and has a terrible engagement break up going on, things seemed shady so to speak. The meme you put up with the little child about giving things to God was an echo to her of what we had been reminding her. She loved it so much.
I am thankful for sweet blogs as yours.
God bless you and be with you Cheryl! <3
I sure hope things work out for your daughter. If it quacks like a duck - it is usually a duck!!! (or toad in this case maybe). I am glad you liked that. Somedays I just see things that speak to me and figure they will with someone else.
DeleteBlessings to you all.
Yes! : ) Perfect! She ended things today, very, very difficult for her but the right thing. She's a sweet girl and deserves a sweet guy.
DeleteThe Holy Spirit is everywhere, even in Blogland for those who have the ears to hear right? Thanks for listening.
Bless her heart - that had to be hard - but wise. May the Lord direct her to the RIGHT person for her.
DeletePrayers for her.
Love this today. We do have many blessings. I have been depressed lately too. I just need to get moving. Bless you my friend.
ReplyDeleteI know - I was thinking of you this morning as well as myself! It is easy to forget.
DeleteHUGS dear one.
Thanks for the kick in the behind! I needed that!
ReplyDeleteLOL - you are most welcome!
DeleteWe need a reminder now and again on how blessed we are and how thankful we should be.
ReplyDeleteYes indeedy we do. God is with us always.
DeleteI've been reminding myself of this on a daily basis. I walked out my front door this morning at 6:35, grouchy as ever, and was greeted by the most beautiful sunrise. Yes, my pup is still on Daylight Savings Time. Yes, he woke me at 4:30 AM (and I got him to go back to sleep for a little while, but not long enough). Yes, it was 30 degrees, with frost on the grass. But, I had the beautiful sunrise to greet me. Grateful that I was given that gift to start my day. We are truly blessed, regardless of the current situation many are dealing with. Truly blessed.
ReplyDeleteSame with me and my kitties - still not acclimated to the time thing. But we are given a gift each morning we open our eyes and feet go to the floor.
DeleteBe blessed.
This was much-needed, Cheryl. I am grateful for YOU!
ReplyDeleteThank you dear. Glad to have helped a little.
DeleteThanks for the reminder, Cheryl. I feel like you and I am blessed with everything I need and more. Best part - Jesus is always near.
ReplyDeleteAmen. HE is always there for us - we just need to listen and pay attention.
DeleteBlessings
Wow, thanks for that! I agree with all you said - I just needed to be reminded of all that I do have to be grateful for. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. So much we just take for granted.
DeleteBlessings
It is true, that it is so easy to be ungrateful. In gratitude is a major sin and something I have to watch for in myself constantly.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that we are really ungrateful - we just take so much for granted. We need to be thankful for ALL!
DeleteI'm grateful for many things. I like that you listed many of yours.
ReplyDeleteSo much to be thankful for. Life is a wonderful journey.
DeleteThank you for a very timely reminder.
ReplyDeleteYou are so very welcome.
DeleteI am grateful our electricity came back on after 12 days and then really happy for our washer, drier. I'm grateful I have one working eye to still read and see with and a husband who doesn't mind playing chauffeur for me. Things could always be worse. We've just got to embrace all that's good today. Thank you for all your upbuilding posts. You make my days better with them.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing the things we take for granted until we don't have them? You are so right, things could always be worse. Each day and small gift is a blessings.
DeleteThank you for your kind words.
A very good reminder for us all Cheryl. Thanks Jean
ReplyDeleteThanks Jean. Have a wonderful day.
DeleteGood thoughts...I needed them today.
ReplyDeleteSome days are worse than others. We all need smiles and good wishes.
DeleteI needed to see this today. Just a bad and sad day for some reason. I really am grateful for all I have. Thinking about someone I love but just not to be what I would like. Fearful for all the virus around and just feeling very lonely today. Nothing worked so went to bed for a few hours and just laid there and shed a few tears. Tomorrow will be better. Sometimes life just keeps chipping you away and finally really wears you down. Thank you for listening.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you are having such a bad day. I understand lonely. Many days I go lay down and shut myself off. It is our one defense mechanism that we can control. Here to listen any time.
DeleteCleanse your soul as you see fit. Better days are ahead. Give it to God and let Him have control.
I sure hope your week gets better. Take care and blessings.
Thank you for your kind words. It will get better! You have amazing fortitude with all you have been through and so encouraging to all. Thank you for having this outlet....I don’t comment often but feel like it’s conversations amongst friends.
DeleteI feel the same way - like chatting with friends. God is my only grace in life. I give it to Him.
DeleteI wouldn't have made out as well if it hadn't been for this place and all of you.
I am in the same place. I found out today I will be losing my computer for a few days and will not be able to use it. But I will have my tablet that I can still check e-mails. But I plan to use this time to do just as you said, dis-connect and work on things. I plan to clean out my computer cabinet and reorganize it so when the baby comes back it will have a nice clean new home. There is always something positive to look at like especially the sun. So today I will concentrate on that and be thankful I have a good brain that still works. Anything else does not matter. Have a beautiful day!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo true. Hope your 'baby' comes back working well! Having our brains is truly a gift. Sun is shining here and that makes any day better. I am dishing out a lot of money today for a repair - but it will be fixed and I will have peace of mind.
DeleteGood day!
This post is an excellent reminder to be grateful for what we have and our position in life. We know this, just need a little nudge once in a while. Everyday belongs to Elohim and we should rejoice and be glad in it. I follow Lindy Thaxton from FOX 59 on Instagram. She has stage 3 colon cancer and she posts how she is doing with surgeries and treatment. I posted on her feed that other day that when I start to complain I think of what she is going through.
ReplyDeleteNo matter our situation in life - someone else has something worse going on. Blessings abound IF we just pay attention.
DeleteI know I need nudges now and then.
I sure hope she gets better - so young.
I have a gratitude journal that I write in every day. It keeps me grounded and helps me realize how incredibly lucky I am.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
That is such a wonderful idea. We have so many blessings in life.
Deletewell said. x Ann
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! Be blessed.
DeleteWell said. Thanks for the gratitude reminder.
ReplyDeleteYou are more than welcome. We all need one now and then.
DeleteThank you for your beautiful post. Many things going on in the world and in our own Country. We forget to be thankful because we are getting droopy, wore out, our very souls being worn away like the water beating on a beach. Thank you for sharing that we need to seek the harbor of our Lord and rest from the storms.
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoy your blog. Have followed for some time.

Thank you. Yes, we have all become weary I do believe. We need to boost ourselves up now and then and hand it all to the Lord. All the worry in the world will not change a thing.
DeleteI am so glad to have you here. Thanks.
