Good Golly Miss Molly

You know the song?  Good golly Miss Molly that girl - she sure likes to "stock"!  LOL!!  Changed it a little. (hehe)

I have been putting stuff in jars and rearranging.  Making my lists and checking them twice!
I have put together some jar recipes for gifting.  Soup mixes are ready and now I need to work on trail mix.

Getting supplies and jars ready to put together soup mixes.
3 types of soup mix.  Long grain rice and dried mushroom (in front), Creamy potato soup (white) and Patchwork soup with spice kit in jar.  RECIPES for these are all on September 9, 2020 post.

Jars and storage in main pantry
Snacks, tomato products (not home canned - those in a different spot), dressings and condiments, puddings and Jello and misc. stuff
Lots of canned meats and veggies

Have you put together any jar recipes to gift or for your own pantry?  They are nice to have on hand when you just don't know what to fix.  They always make nice gifts - no matter the time of year.

Are you stocked and ready for the winter and the beginning of 2021?

Watch those sales and prep.  Straighten and keep track of what you have and USE IT!
We have no idea what the weather will be like this winter, nor do we know what the health situation will be.  Life can throw anything in our way - health scares, financial problems, loss of jobs, bad weather......

Just BE PREPARED!!!

  2. Headed out this morning for a restocking. Hope to then stay out of stores until the New Year.

    1. Good for you. The stores are just going to get busier the closer to Christmas. Smart to get it done now.

  3. Fully stocked. Will only need to shop for perishables and must-have sale items. Our governor is making noises about shutting us down again. Tried to go to the bank today. It is Husband's monthly outing. Got there and the lobby was closed, had to use the drive through. At least Husband got to say Hi to the tellers.

    1. Glad you are stocked. I think they all make noises about it. Of course right at Christmas. I know they are saying Thanksgiving caused a spike - but so did elections.

I got my banking done last month thank goodness.
Glad your hubby got out for a drive - that can make a difference. Maybe take him to see lights one evening - that would be neat.

  4. You know I have never made jar mixes. I have received them and they are nice. I guess I always made cookies or candies for gifts. Or I sewed something. But these are great ideas. I am feeling like my pantry is pretty well stocked now I just have to keep it rotated.

    1. I try to mix it up a bit. Home canned stuff, jar mixes and specialty things people wouldn't normally buy for themselves. I still bake and make goodies too.
I am glad you are stocked - it is so comforting to know you are prepared for anything.

  5. Thanks Cheryl - I read all your posts and have learned as I read and am making positive changes for stocking as I learn.

    1. Hi Joy - glad to have you here. So happy to hear that we do have a positive effect in this big old world! Anything you can get now and get cheaply is basically money in the bank and protection for your family.
      Thanks for following along.

  6. I have never done jar recipes, but think that perhaps they would make lovely gifts for the family. Not this Christmas, but next as I am still in the midst of trying to get my baking done.

    God bless.

    1. Thanks. I have people that look forward to the gift baskets as well. Teens have even asked if they are old enough to get their own! Cute.

  8. No jar mixes - although I have done them in the past. Very few gifts this year as I'm just not seeing people - but - I did get most of my cards mailed today - just a few more to go.
I hit the grocery store for early opening this morning and found turkey on at a great price - bought two breasts, a pkg. of thighs and a pkg. of wings for soup, It was all on at about half of what I would normally expect to pay. I also bought a small smoked ham that was about $4 off the regular price. I've got brussels sprouts, turnip and sweet potatoes already bought - along with a few more veggies, there is wine and I'm going to make some fruitcake later in the week. I will make a trifle closer to Christmas.

    1. Sounds like you are ready for Christmas dinner and many other great meals. I may not see a lot of people for Christmas, but still gifting. I am not stopping all my regular fun - and gifting is fun.
Great job on getting the cards out. I have mine out - jus not addressed.
      Have a good one

  9. We've been stocked since October. I'll just need to buy the more perishable items (produce and dairy). We haven't decided what we will be doing for Christmas yet. Probably soup on Christmas Eve with the kids. I have a ham already for Christmas Day. I do need the ingredients for another round of Chex Mix (I get 2 batches per set of boxes of cereal, bag of pretzels and pound of mixed nuts.) I have the ingredients for cookies. We're set. :D

  10. Yes, we need to stay prepared! My pantry is bulging, similar to yours. We are done with hurricane season, so now it's just the "just in case" pantry...(I think that's what Rhonda calls hers, too!)

Your jar gifts look great. I don't think anyone of my people would appreciate them as everyone is eating a different way! haha. I sure would have, tho!

Thanks - I know many people may not appreciate them - thankfully my peeps do!!!

  11. Soup jars are a good idea. They always look so pretty with the layers. We have bags of beans that are pretty old and the Urban Farmer came across a tip on Pinterest the other day...if the beans are very old, allow more cooking time. He used the One Pot and it did a good job.

We are pretty well fixed with pantry items and freezer items. Paper products, check...shampoo and soap, check...toothpaste and other dental care items, check...detergent and dish soap, check... We have been abundantly blessed by our Elohim, both with goods and the knowledge of how to be a good steward of what we have been given.

The sun is shining and should be around 50 degrees today. Need to cut the rest of the grapevines and make wreaths. Enjoy your day...before the snow hits us...lol

    1. I do the same with old beans. You just cook longer! Easy peasy.
I think jar recipes are pretty too.
Glad to hear you are all stocked as well. It is so comforting to know that not only myself, but my friends are covered. God is always good.
Loving the sun today - it has been a few days.
