Small Talk

Happy Thursday.  Just a little small talk today.  Some thoughts and a sweet story for you.
Here it is December, and we are supposed to maybe get to 60* today!  WOW.  Loving it.

I know some of us all like a lot of the old classic holiday shows.  I did notice the original Walton's show is on You Tube.  It came on cable the day before Thanksgiving, and I missed it.  This has the original kids but different parents.  I do believe it was the first.  The Walton's Christmas movie - The Homecoming.  I always like this particular show - as it showed so much about the simplicity and love that prevailed back in the time of the depression.  Family was all important and gifts (if any) were simple and cherished.
Just thought I would let you know you can find on You Tube.
Sometimes we all need little reminders that life is still wonderful - even when simple.

Part of living room.  Can you tell where Coogy lays on the back of couch?!! That back cushion is lower than the other!  He loves to lay there and look outside if not on the library table.  He can see a bird feeder on the porch and if the door isn't open - this is "kitty TV"!  (see my little 'leg' lamp?) LOL

Just a couple updates:
Our "C" patients are doing well.  Both are recovering well.  As a matter of fact, she is full of p*ss and vinegar - on a cleaning binge!!!  LOL
Sis in now in rehab.  She is having a lot of pain but hanging in there.  Not sure why there will be no surgery - I guess it is that kind of break.  She is madder than a hornet at herself.  She is fretting about Christmas get togethers and we keep telling it doesn't matter when - just that we can!  So,
sibling Christmas will be later than normal again this year.  That is OK - as long as we have each other.

My sweet story to share with you.
You have all prayed for our little pea pods Adi and Remi (so appreciated).  They are doing pretty good.  Of course, they still have medical issues and probably always will - but little Adi is truly thriving now.  She is gaining weight and even has a little double chin now!!!  Come to find out, the area hospitals were all giving her the wrong nutrition and meds.  She almost died - and now that she is on the correct stuff - she is doing so well.  No doubts here that God directed those hands of doctors and nurses.  Sadly, because of the problems with that original feed - she had 2 very un-necessary surgeries that most likely can't be reversed!  BUT, we have them and they are growing, thriving and playing like crazy!!

Remi is a little over 2 and she talks up a storm.  EVERY single night, she and her Poppa (my nephew who is her grandpa) have to Skype with my brother & sister in-law.  She loves that and insists that she get to talk to Papaw every night.  At the end of each 'visit' my brother says - "well I guess that is it" and she says "PRAY PAPAW".
She folds her little hands and holds them close to her face and closes her eyes and Papaw says a prayer for everyone.  At Amen - she claps and smiles and giggles and says Amen herself.  She gets so excited about it.  She loves when Papaw prays with her!!!!
Is that not the sweetest thing?  I guess she has to say prayers before going to sleep as well.  Mommy or Daddy or Poppa helps her.
I love that she and her sister are being brought up in such a loving and caring family.  God knows who His little soldiers are.

I thought I would share that little story as it is just so sweet.  There is good and wonder in the world, despite what we keep seeing and hearing.  The Lord works in mysterious ways we will never understand.  He has reasons for everything.  Someday we will know.

I hope you all have a great balance to your week, and I will be back Sunday!
Stay well my friends!

  1. How very precious! I love how we can keep in touch with those we love these days! Even though my daughter lives across the street, her daughters frequently "need" to facetime with their G & G.

    1. I know. If they can't be together physically all the time - they can still have daily moments.
      They are PRECIOUS!

  2. Sweet story about Remi praying with her Papaw. It is important that children are raised in loving home and learn about our Creator. We were in Fresh Thyme yesterday and was talking to one of the workers in there. She inquired about our Thanksgiving and we asked about hers. She was telling about her three year old great-nephew who liberally uses the *f* word since he hears his dad say it all the time. The brat child's mother says it's "cruel" to correct him. Has parenting declined to this level? I would say it has in home who do not revere the Father and what He has done for us.

Was thinking about your sister this morning. There is always time to celebrate family. Glad to hear your other relatives have recovered and are doing well.

Coogy has a prime spot to watch what is going on. Cats and dogs both seem to gravitate to the backs and chair and sofas. Cool leg lamp!

    1. Oh my. Cruel to correct? Oh goodness, that child doesn't have an honest chance to succeed in this world. Unreal. I hear little kids talk like that and I cringe. Parents need to do their job and quit being 'friends'. So sad.
I have family that all celebrate our Father. Homes just seem to be happier.

Yes, we will celebrate together when we can. I just pray for quick recovery (it appears it may be weeks).
Coogy loves watching his birds!!! Sometimes he runs from window to window all around the house - thinking he can catch them.
It is a little leg lamp - but I like it! It makes me smile.
      F R A G I L E!!!!!! LOL

    2. That’s exactly the opposite of what the Proverbs says about teaching a child or correcting a child. Says if you don’t, you hate your child. What can we expect from people who don’t know God,s Word, I guess😣

    3. Mary I agree. Parents need to be parts - especially today.
Doesn't sound like a good and caring family to me. That is just my opinion.

  4. Your living room looks so cozy and inviting! Tranquil. Homey.

I join the others in thanks for the updates. Still praying for all and so grateful for the power of prayer. I love that Remi prays each night with her Papaw, thanks to Skye. What wonderful memories she'll have of him someday. Those are the moments that matter most... those special connections.

From my house to yours, lots of love. --Elise

    1. Thank you - it is perfect for me!
Thak you for your prayers as well. Yes, she will have wonderful things to remember of Great grandpa.
He said the other day - he wondered why he has been spared all these years - through heart attacks and such - and I told each night he gets his answer. His job isn't done - these babies need him.
      Right back at ya girl!

  5. I had always love the leg lamp. One day at a yard sale, I found a small one for $1, my kind of deal.

    1. I had always loved them too. One of my favorite Christmas movies!!! You got a deal. The big ones are really expensive, thus the reason I have a small one!

  6. Precious story of the Littles 💞💕I love that Coogy has his own spot (or two). Love your cozy, homey picture and chat. I don’t think I’ve ever watched “The Homecoming”, but probably every other Waltons episode ;p
So good to hear of recoveries. I got good news today, too, about family and friends who are going to make it. My dear sister lost her hubby last month to c19...broke all our hearts.
I may make some Moravian Spice cookies this weekend - got a new recipe for them which calls for white pepper and ground mustard😮 But, I love the ones I’ve eaten before...spicier than a ginger snap for sure!
    Blessings to you and yours~

    1. Our babies in the family just make us all smile and give us joy.
Oh Coogy rules the roost!! AT this moment he is laying up against me on the couch staring at me - as if to say 'pet me'.

So glad you got good news today. I sorry for your family's loss.
That sounds like an interesting cookie! Pepper and mustard! Just never know what might be good until you try.
      Blessings
