Today is for those of us that have become a certain age and have very similar memories. Just to make you laugh a little and I guarantee you SEVERAL will be singing oldies today!!!!!!
We have to stick together and support each other. This is just about right. I love it. Click on picture to enlarge so you can read it better. Guarantee someone will be singing at least one of these today!!!!!!!
Yep, yep and yep!!!!!!! Such is life.
We all get so serious in life today. We need to laugh more. We need to lighten up a bit.
I thought most of these were absolutely true and yet so very funny. Hey, if we can't laugh at ourselves - something is wrong.
Live, Laugh, Sing, Dance and Have a Little Fun!
Have a great day!
Thank you for all your positivity! Blessings on you and your day. Lynn Ewing
ReplyDeleteThank you Lynn. Have a wonderful day!
DeleteAs the saying goes ...
ReplyDeleteLife isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,
It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And now I have all those songs running through my head. I'll be dancing all day long. Huge hugs for making me smile this morning.
Dancing in the rain - love it!
DeleteGood - you dance girl!!!!
SMILES
Thank you for BIG smiles this morning, Cheryl!
ReplyDelete--Elise
My pleasure! We all need some extra smiles.
DeleteI’ll be doing my work today with a song in my heart. ❤️
ReplyDeleteMakes it a little easier that way!
DeleteThe reflections brought back memories of alot of the songs I listened too. Though I must admit there are a few signs that don't fit, I don't like wine, I haven't had the paper delivered in years, and I never go the bank to make a deposit, unless it's cash and I use the ATM for that. :)
ReplyDeleteFunny - I still deposit at the bank and take the newspaper. I have never used an ATM or debit card.
DeleteWe are all so much the same and yet we are all so different.
Love it!
All those songs speak to me.
ReplyDeleteYep me too - can probably sing everyone of them.
DeleteI'm right on the cusp of Boomer/Gen X. Technically a boomer, but can't relate to most of it. I'm more in sync with the GoGos and Brat Pack. Ring of Fire was my Grandpa's music, but I loved it. I met Johnny when I was about 3 or 4. I didn't know most of those songs, I confess!!
ReplyDeleteHowever, my friends and I are already joking about our achy, breaky parts!!
And somewhere in my friends house is a VHS tape of us in HS singing The Boy from New York City!!!! If I was to swing my hips like that today, two things would happen. First, an earthquake. Second, body traction!!!
Well - you are just a child then!!!!! LOL
DeleteI have no idea what the song is you posted! Isn't that a hoot! I will look it up.
Achy breaky parts - hear that. I can just get up wrong, sit a certain way or walk - and BOOM I can hurt.
Aahhhh such is life as we age.
Cheryl, The Boy from New York City was done in the 60s by the Ad Libs and recorded again by Manhattan Transfer, I think. It's a snappy little tune!
DeleteManhattan Transfer I have heard of - none of the rest. Oh my! LOL
DeleteSo fun, I just loved this.
ReplyDeleteJust a little smile for the day!
DeleteI'm the odd one out I guess. I know those songs but couldn't sing any since I don't know the words. And I couldn't tell you the artists either. In high school I fell in love with Dean Martin and songs of that era that my parents had record albums of. I probably used those albums more than my parents as they weren't really into music.
ReplyDeleteIn college I became familiar with songs we could dance to at the bars. Not something I listened to much otherwise.
I occasionally listen to stuff like Josh Groban, Collective Soul and the Corrs but on a regular basis now I listen to classical.
My husband likes to crank those oldies stations (60s & 70s) and it really grates on me.
I didn't like the clothes or the music of the 60s & 70s! Sorry!
Your breaking my heart girl!!!! LOL
DeleteI can do classical a little - but that is it. I probably could sing (I wouldn't call it that though) about all those songs.
That is all I listen to, the oldie goldies.
There again - we all share so much in common and yet we are all individuals and we are different.
I love that we still all come together.
Wonderful reminders - thank you! :-)
ReplyDeleteThey really are. Sometimes it is all very simple!
DeleteFunny stuff and a lot of truth!
ReplyDeleteSadly - many truths!
DeleteLots of memories, and lots or smiles and chuckles.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Good! I thought they were good.
DeleteLove this-all so true. Did you ever look for you phone while your talking on it?
ReplyDeleteYES - crazy isn't it!
DeleteI was able to bring to mind the lyrics and music of almost every song on the list. The memories they brought back....
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cheryl, you made my day!
Music seems to take us back to days gone by faster than anything.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed!
