Midweek Pretties and Smiles

Today I just want to take a minute to show a few things that make me smile and bring joy into life every day!  Yes, they are simple things - but they make me smile none the less.  I hope you smile and enjoy for a few minutes!

Forsythia  - blooming so pretty this year.  Bright and cheery!
ONE of my many little friends.  He just took a nut from me and is enjoying it!

Peonies coming up.  It wont be long until the wonderful scent is in the air!
Pretty tulips - look at all the unopen blooms as well!  These have been here for over 34 years.

Wild violets - make me smile.  I remember picking bunches for my Momma as a tyke.
Momma and Fluffy (being elusive) after having a snack (in greenhouse)
More tulips and lilies galore
Sun shining  in one corner of the bedroom - this corner always cheers me.
My handsome Coogy - just chillin' out.  What a rough life!

The land is coming back to life around here.  I love seeing all the green and the colors.  All my babies give me joy each and every day.  Despite all the news today - there are still things to smile about.
Have a wonderful day my friends.

  1. The flowers are beautiful, Cheryl. We have wild violets here too, which are so beautiful. And our grape hyacinths come up every year. I planted them in 1986 and they never disappoint me.

  2. I want to rub that cat belly. We all need to be thankful for all that we have. Smiling is important. I have been in the yard as much as possible. It always makes me smile.

  3. There definitely are things to smile about - spring being one of the best. I saw a robin the other day and the juncos are on their way north stopping at my feeder. Thanks for sharing your photos

    Take care and stay well!

  4. Thanks for the pics they are lovely. I always have a cat or two on my bed. I have been enjoying the spring blossoms more this year than ever. They are a reminder that God is in his heaven, the Savior lives, life goes on in spite of our problems.

  5. Thank you for sharing. I love everything. Especially your furbabies, including squirrel friend. So cute! I am listening to the birds talking right now. They sound so pretty. You know what makes it even prettier? There are no cars going down the street. I can just enjoy listening to the birds. It's sweet and peaceful. Hopefully Google doesn't try to change my spelling and give me a weird mistake, lol.

    1. I sat on the front porch yesterday and closed my eyes and listened to the chorus of birds. It was delightful. I could smell all the fresh mowed grass and hear the birds. So peaceful.

  7. Your peony looks like mine. Once they pop up, they grow like crazy. I have lots of tulips. My daffodils were really scarce. I can usually pick a dozen every couple of days but not this year. I may need to divide them in fall.

Our Juncos have moved on and we have a yardful of territorial robins. I see them squawking and chasing each other and I holler out the back door, HEY, THIS IS A PEACEABLE KINGDOM! QUIT IT!!!
And my husband laughs at me and says I should make them a sign so they don't forget lol.

    1. Oh my goodness that is funny. I am sure neighbors would get a kick out of a sign as well!! I don't have that many robins - so no problem here. They are busy making nests though.
My bright yellow finches have shown back up - such little rays of sunshine.
My daffodils were pretty but they are done now.
      ENJOY those territorial little birds!!
