Just Follow Your Heart

Today it seems everybody questions everything others do.  I don't get it.  It seems to me if people worried as much about their 'house' as they worry about others - we would all be better off.

I do what I want, when I want, because I want!  You don't agree or like it - OK - but know I really don't care!!!!  Yes indeed that is how I feel.
I go with my heart.
I have people question me on why I spend as much money as I do on cats and nature.  BECAUSE I want to!  That is all they need to know!!!!
People ask why I feel they way I do about some current events.  BECAUSE I do! Nothing more needs to be said.
People ask why I give to the hungry.  BECAUSE I can.
I even have had people ask why I mow my yard the way I do.  BECAUSE it is how I do it!

My goodness I even get asked why I haven't started dating yet.  REALLY???  They obviously don't really know me.
Why do I still wear my wedding ring?   Why not??  I am still married in my heart.
Why do I stock so much for just me?   Because I will always be prepared for anything and I can always help others.

WHY do others feel like they need to judge?  You have your opinion.  I have my opinion.  They don't have to match.
If you feel you have to continually put people down or trash them or if you feel you have to continually point out wrongs - I feel sorry for you.
You are wasting precious minutes of YOUR life that you will never get back.  They are gone forever.  WHY?  Just to point out something negative.  So sad.

The way you live your life is what your legacy will be.  That is something to think about.
Do what makes you happy and in turn it will make others happy to be around you.  You will give off an air of joy and happiness and that is catching!  Be the positive the world needs.
Heaven knows there is more than enough negative - be the positive.

I want to teach - always have.  I wanted to be a teacher when I was younger.  Somedays I think that blogging is a form of teaching.  It makes me happy.
I want to be helping force for those in need.  Only by the grace of God - it could be me.
I want to love and take care of nature and animals.  It/they gives me such joy and happiness - I just want to do my little bit to help and nurture God's other creatures.
I want to put a smile on someone's face - just because they may need it.
I want to sing and dance in the rain.  I want to act like a child now and then.  I want to laugh till I cry.  I want to love till it hurts.  I just want to BE ME!!!!!!
I want to be remembered for that.
You don't have to like it or approve of it.  That is OK - that is you!

Just remember to ring your own bell in your own way.  Do what makes you happy!!!!  No approval needed!
You get one shot at this thing called LIFE.  Make it count.
Go with your heart and you will be doing it right and you will leave a good mark on the world.
Enjoy life - have a little fun - give - smile - laugh - love - embrace - be kind to all things.
It is all between you and your Maker.

Follow your heart.
Leave a little sunshine for others - stop the darkness.

Have a blessed day!

    1. Yes indeed. That sure seems to have been forgotten lately. So much negative out there.
I'd rather be happy than angry - wouldn't you?
      Have a great day

  2. I love this post and your attitude.

Sadly we live in times where everyone thinks they have voice their opinions and correct anything they think someone else is doing wrong.

I’d like to go back to ‘if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything”

You keep doing what you’re doing Cheryl. I think you’ve got life figured out really well.

    1. Thank you so much. I don't know if I have it figured out or not - but I know how to make me happy. If I don't make me happy - no one else will - for sure.
I will just keep plugging away!
      Have a great one

  3. A friend told me that years ago a neighbor did not like the way they mowed their lawn and so he told them he would just mow it so that it would be the way he liked it. I guess he thought he was hurting them but man oh man would that make me happy to have free lawn service!

    1. LOL. I had a neighbor ask why I did mine the way I do - and I really said because this is how I do it. He said you should do this - and I told him to knock himself out if he wanted the job for FREE. He shut-up!!!! LOL
      Some people!!!!
Yep free lawn service - fine in my book!

  5. I love this blog today. I have such anxiety about what other people think. I like to think I'm above it but I guess it does bother me. Sometimes I think to myself "I just want to be me"!

    1. YES!!!! I did that for years. I guess I still do a little - but for the most part I have realized that what is important at this point in life is just to be me and try to be happy.
Others don't like - they can stick it!!
You go girl! Life is to short to do anything else.

  6. You teach us well, Miss Cheryl! And I thank you very much!! Crazy world at times. So, home is where there is our own sanity.I once read that we have one director...God. and one audience...God. That's the Who that really matters. But, I know we do influence others....so we keep on trying to do right...one day at a time...and being ourselves as we do that. Thanks much for this post!!

    1. Thank you. You are so right - God is the center of everything and that is who matters. I do believe He guides us and that guides the directions we take - so basically we are His ways.
He teaches us to be good, we do good for others - we celebrate Him.
      Thank you.

The things that could have spewed from my tongue to that question. LOL I was blunt but nice.

  9. Some folks just need to MYOB (mind your own business)! I would guess that the people who are questioning you would have a cow if you said something similar to them. Miss Linda M is right...the only One who matters is the One who created us.

    1. Yep. I did tell someone who asked a question I didn't think I needed to answer for - it wasn't their business. Oh well. They will get over it or not.

  11. Preach it! Very well said, sister! And, for what it's worth, less than 6 months after my husband's passing someone asked me "are you dating anyone yet?" Mind ya ... I stopped before I said something I'd regret. And, I'm still wearing my wedding ring, in part because it won't come off. It will when it's the right time. Hugs!

  12. What a wonderful post! I guess, when asked when you're going to start dating again, you could say, "Are you asking me out?" That would shut them up! LOL You are correct though, too many of us spend waaaay too much time worrying about what others think. You are a wonderful teacher, Cheryl; I learn something (or you give me something to think about) every time you post. Thank you ~ from all of us.

  13. Yes, you are married. You are married forever. The law says so. At any time you can choose to say: married, widowed, single. It is purely up to you!

My older sister started taking her wedding ring off a bit after about 5years. At 13 years, she rarely wears it. It only matters what you want/feel/think.

  14. I’ve asked why someone does something in a particular way as I like to learn different/better ways to do something but I don’t share my thoughts unless asked (and even then I am careful how I answer). It is called manners and I am not sure when manners became antiquated. I had a family member who always gave her two cents and would just say “I am just being honest..”

    1. It does seem as if manners are outdated by many. They see nothing off limits. I don't understand.
I like to learn as well - just don't tell me what I am doing is wrong because it isn't your way!
      Things have sure changed!!

  16. You have a wonderful attitude and I love your blog. I wish more people were like you. You don't butt into anybody's business and you are always kind, caring, helpful and so positive. You do you and your readers will keep reading your blog. The ones asking the inappropriate questions, well maybe get a life. Stay safe!

  17. Peopl are so judgemental and opinionated! My mum was widowed in 1995. She has never dated anyone since my dad died and wore her wedding ring until a couple of months ago, when she removed it only because her fingers are arthritic and kept swelling. As far as she's concerned she will always be married to my dad.

    1. Yes they are. My Mom wore her wedding ring to her grave. Daddy passed in 1984 and Mom passed in 2001. The ring went with her.
I know we should never say never - but I pretty sure of it!!

  18. We are from the same generation that believes in letting others do their thing. After being married 47 years to the same man I dated since I was 12 years old, and then becoming a widow four years ago, I have never had any desire to date or 'keep company' with any other man. While I so enjoyed our life together, that life has changed and I have adjusted to the new normal. Same with what is going on around this country. If you don't like something, just wait a bit and there will be a new normal. I just stay home, take care of it, enjoy my sewing room, help where I can, and enjoy the little things of life. While it is not the life I would have chosen for myself, it is the life the good Lord has chosen for me. So for now I will do what He wants and take it from there. And I will also do it my way with His guidance. Thank you for a wonderful post and for your wonderful attitude. Nice to hear others of us are out there. All we can do is pray for the ills of our country.

    1. THANK YOU - you said that beautifully. Yes, I spent over 1/2 of my life with my husband and it was good. He was a good man. I can't imagine anyone filling his shoes.
You are so right - this is the path God has shown us - make the best of each day. Do what we can and go forward.
Oh I pray for our country each and every day.
Thanks Lynda for confirming that others exist like me!

  21. Hello everyone, it really worked and I'm proud to give testimony too.
My husband left me for another girl. I felt very bad but I expected
him to come back to me. One day, I saw a message about how a lady met
her husband and I decided to contact this prophet that helped her
because my relationship was failing. Although I never believed in
spiritual work. I tried reluctantly because I was desperate, but to my
greatest surprise, this prophet (Baba Eko) helped me and my
relationship is perfect now, since Baba Eko helped me, my husband now
treats me like a queen, even when he told me he does not love me
anymore more. . Well, I can not say much, but if you are going through
difficulties in your relationship or any issues at all, here is Baba
    Eko email address: babaekotemple@gmail.com
    Or contact his WhatsApp: +2348158768376
Your partner will definitely come back to you ..
