Simple As 1, 2, 3, 4

I am posting some super easy and fun recipes that require very few ingredients and couldn't be any simpler to make.
I am going on a short day trip today with my brother and sister in law - which should be a fun day!  I will let you know.  EEK!  Haven't done anything fun in months (other than around here).
Hope you find something here you might want to try!

I would substitute chocolate syrup for mine!  Blend it all together!

Can use whatever kind of nuts you have.

I'm making some this week

These are super yummy - taste like yeast rolls

You can do this camping over a fire - on the grill - or in the oven.  Fill with marshmallows, chocolate bits or peanut butter bits OR anything that will melt and be gooey!!!!!!
Such a fun and yummy treat.  Kids OR adults!!!!!

A summertime favorite - oh my goodness this stuff is soooooo good!  You could easily halve the recipe.

Hope you see something that makes you want to make a simple new dish!
ENJOY!!!

  1. ok I'm going to try the smores one and the dinner rolls. So fun.
That's a different wilted left lettuce recipe so I'll try that on my husband too one day. We just usually use bacon grease over top so the extra he would love I think. Thanks for the ideas!

    1. Glad you found some fun things to fix. Read closely - saute onions in bacon grease THEN add vinegar and sugar - so you still use the bacon grease! YUM

  7. I haven’t had wilted lettuce in years but certainly remember my mom and grandmothers making this, especially in the summer.

  9. I'm with you and the chocolate syrup!

I sure wish I had that cone idea as a kid. We camped a lot and my parents loved the cooking ideas I got from Girl Scouts. The hobo dinner- hamburger patty with chopped veggies in foil, so easy to make and clean up. The Walking Salad for a lunch on the boat. A cored apple - keep the ends- stuffed with peanut butter and raisins. And the desserts were always a hit. Smores and Kick the Can ice cream. Using 2 coffee cans- 3 lb and 1 lb- you put the ingredients in the small can, surrounded it with dry ice was it? in the big can. Put lids on both and roll the Can back and forth. My brother and I did this with no complaints!! Always a treat. These cones would've fit right in!!

    1. I have always liked hobo dinners - have made so many varieties. Oh what fun ideas and memories. I forgot about having stuffed apples. What a fun way to make ice cream.

  11. Just a note on the dinner rolls, the flour needs to be self rising flour. Some of us Northern girls don't generally know that or bake with SR flour.
